Treasury Operations Specialist - Avalanche Foundation

The Avalanche Foundation is hiring a Treasury Operations Specialist to ensure the smooth functioning of its treasury operations and to spearhead key processes like onboarding and due diligence for financial partnerships.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Treasury Operations Oversight

  • Oversee daily treasury operations to ensure optimal liquidity management, supporting the Foundation's operational and strategic needs
  • Assist to create, implement and manage processes for the allocation, movement, and monitoring of funds across diverse financial platforms, including banks, centralized exchanges, custodians, and DeFi protocols
  • Monitor and manage treasury operations infrastructure to ensure timely funding, risk mitigation, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Strategic Liquidity Planning and Execution

  • Help develop and execute short-term liquidity strategies, factoring in market conditions, operational requirements, and business growth
  • Manage cash flow forecasting to align with the Foundation’s operational and project-specific goals.

Counterparty Relationship Management

  • Build, maintain, and enhance strong relationships with financial institutions, centralized and decentralized exchanges, OTC counterparties, custodians, and service providers
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting operational issues, negotiating agreements, and optimizing partnership efficiency.

Due Diligence and Risk Assessment

  • Lead and coordinate with the risk team a comprehensive due diligence processes for new and existing financial counterparties, ensuring compliance with the Foundation’s risk tolerance and regulatory standards
  • Maintain robust records and databases of due diligence documentation, operational risk assessments, and audit trails for internal and external review.

Onboarding and Integration

  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new financial partners, including custodians, exchanges, OTC desks, and service providers
  • Ensure the seamless integration of operational tools, systems, and workflows to enhance treasury functionality and scalability.

Operational and Regulatory Compliance

  • Help to establish and enforce best practices for treasury operations to comply with international financial regulations and the relevant regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, and compliance colleagues and external resources to ensure all financial operations adhere to KYC/AML policies and other relevant standards.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on all treasury activities, liquidity status, and operational performance to senior management
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for treasury operations to support data-driven decision-making.

Process Optimization and Automation

  • Identify inefficiencies in existing treasury workflows and implement improvements or automation to streamline operations
  • Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge tools and technologies to support scalable and efficient treasury management.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related fields. Advanced degrees are a plus
  • 5-7 years of experience in treasury operations, operations/relationship management in a similar field/role, or another related role
  • Demonstrated expertise in onboarding and due diligence processes with financial entities
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities with a strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Python and SQL highly desirable
  • Excellent people and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across external partnerships
  • Must reside in The Cayman Islands or relocate to

Salary Range: $94,588 to $118,235
