Accountant, Avalanche Foundation

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Accountant with a strong foundation in accounting and a passion for emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will bring experience in traditional accounting functions, proficiency in NetSuite, and a strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain. WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor communications, and timely payment scheduling
  • Maintain and reconcile prepaids and accruals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with month-end close processes
  • Monitor and record deferred revenue transactions in accordance with IFRS standards
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and collaborate across departments to resolve discrepancies
  • Track and manage fixed assets and intangible assets, including calculating depreciation, amortization, and conducting impairment assessments
  • Perform daily cash reconciliations to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions
  • Utilize NetSuite to streamline accounting workflows, maintain accurate records, and generate financial reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and enhance accounting policies and procedures related to cryptocurrency transactions
  • Support ad hoc projects, process improvements, and other tasks as assigned by the finance team

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably within a fast-paced or high-growth environment
  • Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP/accounting software
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative mindset
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Must reside outside of the United States, ideally in the Cayman Islands (Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands)

Salary Range: $60,000 to $85,000
