Position Purpose
The Corporate Financial Aid Officer is responsible for processing and maintaining financial aid packaging and services, for Title IV and non-Title IV, in support of campuses.
Job Responsibilities
- Package student aid, verify student reported data, review students for disbursement eligibility and approve disbursements to pay. Reconcile student level disbursement data with Federal data.
- Audit processes ensure accuracy and timeliness in all aspects of servicing functionality.
- Assist with program review/audit responses. Review and maintain familiarity with regulatory guidance from the US Department of Education.
- Adhere to FA Code of Conduct and ensure compliance with state/federal and accrediting agencies.
- Maintain regular status updates and upward communication to management to include regular, established reporting, and action taken to resolve issues.
- Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications for this Job
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, or equitable on the job Financial Aid experience
- College degree or minimum of 1 year college level coursework in accounting, finance, or related field
Experience/Skills
- Prior experience processing financial aid, knowledge and understanding of financial aid web modules required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment
- Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and can multi-task and work well under pressure
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism
- Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting
- Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and as a collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. CampusNexus experience a plus.
- Ability and willingness to work outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor
Work Schedule
- Monday-Friday: 8:30am - 5pm at our home office location in Virginia Beach, VA
