$2,500 relocation bonus for out-of-area hires moving to Philadelphia
Ready to move from the hangar to the classroom? We’re looking for experienced A&P mechanics to train the next generation of aviation technicians in Philadelphia, PA. Location: 📍 3001 Grant Avenue,Philadelphia, PA 19114
Work Schedule:
- Option 1: Days: Monday - Thursdays: 6am - 3pm. Friday: 4 hours (flex)
- Option 2: Evenings: Monday - Thursday: 3pm -12am. Friday 4 hours (flex)
Compensation: Up to $34/hr based on previous experience and qualifications
Position Purpose
The Aircraft Mechanic Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction in assigned courses, ensuring that students grasp both theoretical concepts and practical applications in aircraft maintenance. In addition to teaching, the instructor manages essential administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, assessing student performance, and collaborating with faculty to enhance the curriculum. This role is pivotal in fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes student success and prepares them for careers in the aviation industry.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and effective teaching in aircraft maintenance principles while developing curricula that aligns with industry standards.
- Deliver scheduled instruction in aircraft maintenance, creating an inclusive, engaging classroom/lab environment that supports strong learning outcomes.
- Develop and refine curriculum and course materials in collaboration with campus leadership to ensure alignment with industry standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and laboratory, ensuring tools/equipment are properly maintained and ready for student use; support equipment/supply inventory and replenishment.
- Manage administrative and compliance duties, including accurate academic, attendance, and required documentation in accordance with institutional procedures and regulations.
- Support student success and retention by monitoring attendance, providing individualized support, escalating issues to the Supervisor as needed, and participating in training, evaluations, and faculty meetings.
Required Qualifications
- FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant Mechanic Certificate
- Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience)
- Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance (theory + hands-on), with current industry awareness and commitment to professional development.
- Able to succeed in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-focused educational environment; organized, analytical, and effective under pressure.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and strong work ethic in all interactions.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service mindset for students and staff; works well independently and on teams
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) and willing to work outside normal hours as needed.
