Retail Sales Associate

Job Summary
The Sales Associate is responsible for welcoming and helping all customers and will offer first-class service and product solutions to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. They will exercise empathy and tact to address challenging customer situations. They are constantly updating their knowledge of the products, services, and policies while maintaining the presentation of the sales floor, products, signage, and displays.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers, responding to questions, improve engagement with merchandise and provide outstanding customer service
- Learn product knowledge (SKU’s, fit, and more)
- Demonstrate superb product knowledge and services
- Operate cash register and Point of Sales system (POS)
- Manage financial transactions including sales, process returns and exchanges, and balance drawers
- Achieve established goals
- Direct customers to merchandise within the store
- Increase in store sales
- Introduce promotions and opportunities to customers
- Cross-sell products to increase purchase amounts
- Maintain an orderly appearance throughout the sales floor
- Assist with incoming and outgoing shipments
- Conduct inventory count
- Ensure floor restock happens as needed
- Assist with other purchase orders
- Share knowledge with team members
- Assist with omni-channel sales and fulfillment process
- Under the direction of the Store Manager and company guidelines, assist with social media posts in various ways such as take photos, assist with photoshoots, and model clothing
Skills, Abilities & Requirements
- Abide to available and agreed schedule
- Ability to work retail hours including weekends and holidays
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and follow store’s dress code
- Maintain a positive attitude, high energy, and focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- Ability to confidently operate office equipment such as computers, printers and telephones
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, climb, walk, and stand for long durations of time
- Ability to move and lift equipment and supplies of up to 20 pounds
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color peripheral, and depth perception
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate
Salary Range – California
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Aviator Nation includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. In addition, where a candidate falls within the disclosed range estimate may be dependent on the applicable geographic differential associated with the location in which the position may be filled.
A reasonable estimate of pay range is $17-$21/hr.
Eligible employees may also participate in an employee benefits program as well as an incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
