Business Architect, Communication Technology
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Architect – Communication Technology to lead the strategic planning and alignment of our communication systems and technologies, including contact centers, teleconferencing, conference room AV systems, and content and knowledge management platforms. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to define business requirements, ensure integration and interoperability of communication solutions, and drive projects that enhance collaboration, customer engagement, and overall business productivity.
What you'll do
- Strategic Planning & Architecture
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap for communication technologies, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and technology strategy.
- Evaluate emerging communication technology trends, identifying potential opportunities to enhance business capabilities and user experiences.
- Define and document business and functional requirements for communication systems, ensuring scalable, future-ready solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner closely with business leaders across departments to understand their needs, challenges, and priorities related to communication technology.
- Collaborate with scrum team, communications and facilities teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal deployment of telecommunication, AV, and collaboration systems.
- Act as a bridge between scrum teams and business units, translating technical capabilities into clear business benefits.
- Solution Design & Optimization
- Design and implement efficient, integrated solutions for contact centers, teleconferencing platforms, conference room AV, and knowledge/content management systems.
- Optimize existing systems and processes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve user satisfaction.
- Conduct regular assessments of communication technology solutions to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
- Vendor & Technology Management
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring alignment with technical standards and business requirements.
- Lead vendor negotiations in collaboration with procurement to secure favorable terms and maintain strong partnerships.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with SLAs and continuous value delivery.
- Governance, Standards & Compliance
- Define and enforce standards, policies, and guidelines for the use of communication technologies across the organization.
- Ensure all communication technology implementations comply with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and oversee knowledge management practices to enhance content accessibility, organization, and sharing across teams.
- Product Management & Change Leadership
- Lead roadmap development, budgeting, and resource allocation for communication technology initiatives.
- Drive change management efforts to promote adoption of new tools and systems, conducting training sessions and providing ongoing support as needed.
- Track roadmap progress, report on key metrics, and ensure timely completion of deliverables within budget.
What we're looking for
- In-depth knowledge of contact center solutions, teleconferencing platforms, AV systems, and content/knowledge management systems.
- Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset, with the ability to align technology solutions to business needs and goals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for building relationships across departments and levels.
- Experience with product management, budgeting, and resource allocation in technology initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business architecture, with a focus on communication technology or a related domain.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with leading communication technology vendors and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Salesforce Service Cloud, RingCentral, Sharepoint, etc.).
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and data privacy standards for communication and content technology.
- Proven experience in driving digital transformation and user adoption of new technologies.
