Senior Data Engineer
Job Overview:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building cutting-edge data solutions focused on data ingestion, data quality, master data management (MDM), and innovative software practices. You will work closely with Principal Engineers, Solution Architects, and Product Managers to develop scalable, modern data systems that drive business growth. This role requires a deep understanding of data engineering principles combined with software engineering skills, particularly in API development and event streaming architectures.
Data Engineering
- Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Solution Architects, and Product Management to design, develop, and implement robust data solutions.
- Conduct thorough data profiling to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and data quality issues, and implement processes to improve data reliability.
- Design and implement multi-dimensional data models and be familiar with different use cases for data lakes, lake houses, and other data stores.
- Identify and implement performance optimization strategies for data storage, processing, and retrieval.
- Continuously develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of modern data engineering practices and emerging technologies.
- Aid Product Management in creating realistic and achievable product roadmaps.
- Mentor junior software and data engineers.
- Develop and maintain API-based data pipelines to support various business applications.
- Utilize eventing technologies to streamline data flows and enable timely decision-making.
- Implement cross-domain solutions, including integration patterns, workflows, policies, support, and reporting associated with an enterprise MDM capability.
Master Data Management
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of master data across the organization.
- Develop MDM technology-enabled solutions that address client needs, including the design, automation, and orchestration of enterprise Master, Relationship, and Reference Data.
- Perform match tuning and optimization for customer data using Reltio.
- Serve as a tech lead for the Reltio Platform and Services, leveraging expertise in system configurations, data modeling, tuning, and health/observability.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MDM best practices and emerging technologies.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define data-related business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Interface closely with Reltio support and customer success to ensure a strong partnership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of combined experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or other technical roles.
- 5+ years of Data Engineering experience in MDM implementation.
- Strong knowledge of data analysis, data modeling, and data quality principles.
- Reltio Configuration Specialist or other advanced certification required.
- Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer with a focus on Master Data Management.
- Deep understanding and hands-on experience with MDM tools and technologies such as Reltio, Informatica MDM, Profisee, Tibco, etc.
- Previous experience with mastering customer data.
- Experience with RESTful API development and integrations leveraging Events, Messages, and ETL.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Hub.
- Proficient in SQL and other programming languages such as Python, C#, .Net, .Net Core, or Java.
- Experience with structured and unstructured data such as JSON, relational data, and documents.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Understanding of DevOps principles and practices such as CI/CD.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to Generative AI and ML
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Data Bricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Synapse)
