Manager of Procurement - Vendor Management
Role Overview
The Manager of Procurement - Vendor Management is responsible for overseeing strategic procurement initiatives, supplier relationships, and cost optimization efforts while ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role provides leadership to the procurement team, drives process improvements, and partners with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement best-in-class procurement strategies.
This role will ideally sit in our Charlotte, NC HQ and work in a hybrid environment (Tues, Weds & Thurs onsite).
What you'll do
- Lead and develop a procurement team, providing coaching and mentorship to enhance performance and effectiveness
- Drive the execution of procurement strategies to optimize cost savings, mitigate risks, and enhance supplier partnerships
- Oversee high-value vendor negotiations, contract management, and supplier performance assessments
- Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to align procurement activities with overall business objectives
- Leverage data and analytics to drive strategic sourcing decisions and identify cost reduction opportunities
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing practices
- Optimize procurement processes through automation, technology enhancements, and operational best practices
- Develop and manage key performance metrics to evaluate procurement effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
- Partner with Finance and business units to align procurement strategies with financial planning and budgeting
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred
- 8 or more years of procurement experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership role
- Strong expertise in vendor negotiations, strategic sourcing, and contract management
- Experience implementing procurement technologies, process improvements, and automation strategies
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and present actionable insights to senior leadership
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders
- Strong understanding of compliance, regulatory requirements, and procurement best practices
- Proficiency in procurement tools, ERP systems, and advanced Excel functions
