About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our robot motion planning team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing real-time planning algorithms for outdoor delivery robot. Also you will validate and evaluate the quality of your solution through offline simulations and live-ride testing, ensuring robust performance in the complex urban environments of large cities.

What You'll Do

  • Develop planning algorithms that ensures safe, smooth, and predictable movement of the robot for other agents. This includes incorporating as social aspects such as merging, negotiating narrow spaces and handling noisy, uncertain, and incomplete perception data.
  • Frame open real-world problems into well-defined engineering tasks. Develop tools, algorithms and metrics to address these challenges, including improving our simulation framework.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine the development pipeline using quantitative metrics to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with planning, simulation, and perception teams to integrate your models into the full robot autonomy stack.

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years software engineering experience programming in C++
  • Strong modern C++ skills and a solid understanding of high-performance code design.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience solving motion-planning or related robotics problems.
  • Experience with spatial geometry algorithms or computational geometry.
  • Familiarity with ML-based planning or control systems.

Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.
