
Senior Marketing Manager
As AWAL UK Senior Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for leading marketing strategy and initiatives for a wide range of AWAL's artists, spanning emerging talent through to established, high-profile acts. This senior role requires strategic leadership, team mentorship, and the ability to drive commercial success across multiple priority campaigns simultaneously.
You will have 5+ years' experience in music marketing, with at least 3 years at marketing manager level or above at a front line label or equivalent. You will be confident leading high-priority campaigns, managing substantial budgets, and providing strategic direction to both internal teams and senior artist stakeholders. You will have a proven track record of delivering commercially successful 360 artist campaigns, including chart-topping releases and complex album cycles, as well as working to develop breakthrough artists from early stages to mainstream success.
You will excel at working with artists and their management at all career levels, from providing hands-on guidance for emerging acts to serving as a strategic partner for established artists. As a digital native, you will be adept at creating, editing, and distributing compelling content across all major social media platforms and channels. Your digital expertise will be matched by your ability to execute premium physical campaigns, and you'll bring innovative thinking to how artists can achieve cultural impact alongside commercial success and critical acclaim.

What you'll do:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and timelines for selected AWAL artists
- Communicate & implement marketing best practices, new developments and strategies to artists / artist's teams
- Communicate and synchronise campaigns with AWAL’s global marketing teams
- Oversee the delivery and the rollout of all assets for designated artist campaigns
- Manage marketing campaign budgets
- Oversee setup & execution of clients' physical and digital production
- Establish clear campaign objectives & targets for all key stakeholders to adhere to source and manage media promo partners for projects
- Work with internal teams, including A&R, Audience Development, Global Commercial Partnerships, Sync, Brand Partnerships & Operations teams as well as external partners
- Create, edit, and distribute engaging content across multiple social media platforms and channels, maintaining brand consistency and maximizing engagement
- Advise on digital marketing, advertising and social media strategies to maximise results, engagement and growth in conjunction with the Audience Development team
- Set ambitious yet achievable streaming, sales, and revenue targets and drive teams to exceed them
- Conduct in-depth analysis of campaign performance using analytics platforms and third-party tools, translating insights into actionable strategy
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior marketing team members
- Build strong relationships with both artists / artists’ team & internal team members in order to build trust & to keep steering the campaigns effectively
- Be consistent & effective in communications with both the artists / artists’ team & internal team members which adhere to AWAL's values
- Successfully manage multiple campaigns in a fast-paced working environment and prioritise workload effectively
- Set campaign objectives & targets at the start of each campaign
- Regularly keep abreast of the campaign budget & how that affects the planning & execution of the campaigns
- Develop, create and execute content strategies that amplify artist narratives and drive measurable engagement across digital channels
Who you are:
- You have 5+ years of experience in music marketing, with at least 3 years at marketing manager level or above at a label, distributor, artist/label services company, or artist management company
- You have a proven track record of leading priority, high-budget campaigns that have achieved significant commercial success
- You have a solid understanding of the AWAL business model, company values, and the broader artist services landscape
- You have comprehensive knowledge of the global music release lifecycle, including digital and physical distribution, metadata management, and marketing ecosystems
- You have extensive experience hiring, managing, and evaluating third-party promotion teams, creative agencies, and specialist partners
- You have expert knowledge of the DSP landscape, playlist strategies, and platform-specific marketing opportunities
- You are highly proficient in modern music marketing techniques including influencer/creator marketing, content strategy, YouTube optimization, fan community building, and first-party data activation
- You have hands-on expertise in creating, editing, and distributing content across social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) with understanding of platform-specific best practices and content formats
- You have a strong understanding of international markets and experience executing campaigns across multiple territories
- You have proven expertise in developing and implementing effective paid media strategies across multiple platforms with sophisticated audience targeting
