Senior DevOps Engineer

The Opportunity: You will be a key contributor in DevOps Engineering efforts for our DoD customers accelerating operational capability deployment. Expect to work directly with Awetomaton & customer leadership, system users users and external stakeholders to implement Kubernetes solutions that are observable, highly-available and performant. Your ability to rapidly understand, prototype and field new technologies will ensure success of next-generation platforms critical to intelligence systems.
What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient software systems.
- Utilize automation tools for automated code deployment and configuration management.
- Collaborate with software developers and system engineers in deployment of platform applications.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and performance.
- Ensure software security by implementing best practices and coordinating with security teams to conduct regular audits and compliance checks.
- Document system architecture, operations and maintenance procedures, ensuring knowledge is shared and easily accessible.
Must-haves in a Candidate:
- Demonstrate initiative when faced with limited guidance or ambiguous requirements
- Experience designing and deploying systems of moderate to high complexity on Kubernetes
- Mastery of modern Linux scripting (Python/Bash) and automation (Infrastructure and Configuration as Code)
- Exceptional data-driven analytic skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor of Science with 10+ years of professional experience
Nice to Have in a Candidate:
- Development background with Overhead Persistent InfraRed systems.
- Kubernetes experience with Cloud (AWS / Azure) or Platform (Linux Academy K8s / etc.) certifications
- Knowledge of Authority to Operate processes within US Government (NIST 800-53 / FEDRAMP)
Details:
- Work is largely performed from customer site at WPAFB.
- Beavercreek corporate office is <10 minutes from customer site and regularly used for team collaboration.
