To collaborate with the Operations, Governance, and Control team to establish and maintain a robust data governance framework that ensures the integrity, security, and compliance of data across all business divisions. This requires expertise in data governance, compliance, security, metadata management, and access control across platforms like Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog, and other emerging technologies in the financial services industry. The primary focus is to support the team and key stakeholders in achieving strategic data governance objectives following DAMA-DMBOK principles, ensuring data quality, and fostering a culture of data stewardship. Additionally, the role entails monitoring and reporting on data governance metrics through dashboards and reports, enabling informed decision-making and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Your EDGE Assignment/You Will
• Manage Microsoft Purview Compliance features, oversee data classification, sensitivity labelling, access policies, and other monitoring within Microsoft Purview.
• Databricks Unity Catalog administration to ensure proper data access controls, lineage tracking, and governance policies are implemented.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Data Access & RBAC Management, Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and data access approval workflows across multiple systems.
• Responsible for creating, maintaining, and governing business metadata to ensure consistency, accuracy, and accessibility across the organization.
• Review and align to data governance policies, standards, and procedures, including data ownership, stewardship, and quality management, to ensure consistent and effective data management practices.
• Prepare and present data governance metrics and dashboards to program staff and senior management, using tools like Power BI to communicate data health, compliance, and risk management effectively.
• Conduct data risk assessments and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, DORA, AU privacy, etc), working with legal and compliance teams to address gaps and mitigate risks.
• Identify and assess opportunities for process and technical enhancements and innovation within the organization.
• Stay updated on advancements in data governance, automation and AI, exploring new tools and features that can benefit the organization’s data management and governance practices.
Are you the one?
• Overall, 5 years of relevant experience preferably from Financial Services industry.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog and Power BI.
• Strong understanding of DAMA-DMBOK principles and data governance framework.
• Experience with creating dashboard and compliance reports for governance insights.
• Well versed with GDPR, DORA, AU Privacy, and other data regulations.
