The Regional Financial Controller – India will hold primary responsibility for the financial control, statutory reporting, regulatory finance, and financial operations of Axi’s India entities. This position is both strategic and hands-on, requiring the incumbent to build processes from inception while ensuring ongoing operational excellence. The role involves close collaboration with the Group CFO Group Head of FP&A, and Group Head OF Tax and will report into the Head of Financial Control. The role serves as the senior finance representative for the country.

Financial Control & Reporting

- Lead end-to-end financial accounting for all India entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial results.
- Oversee the monthly close process and prepare management accounts and variance analyses for Group Finance.
- Maintain a robust control environment aligned with Group policies and internal audit standards.
Regulatory Finance (New Regulated Entity)

- Establish and manage the regulatory finance framework for the new regulated entity.
- Ensure compliance with RBI, SEBI, and other regulatory reporting obligations, including capital, governance, and periodic filings.
- Support regulatory inspections and engage with regulators as required.
Statutory, Tax & Audit Responsibilities

- Manage statutory audits, corporate tax filings, GST, transfer pricing, and Companies Act compliance in partnership with external advisors.
- Oversee payroll-related statutory requirements including TDS, PF, gratuity, and labour law compliance.
Financial Operations & Process Excellence

- Establish scalable processes for accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury operations, banking, and reconciliations.
- Support settlements and operational finance processes in coordination with global teams.
- Lead implementation of financial systems and reporting tools within India.
Commercial & Business Partnering

- Provide financial insights, analysis, and decision support to the India leadership team.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business case preparation.
- Contribute to cost optimisation, vendor evaluation, and strategic initiatives.
Entity Set-Up Activities

- Lead finance workstreams associated with the establishment of the regulated India entity, including bank accounts, capital planning, financial policies, and reporting frameworks.
- Ensure operational alignment with Group Finance functions and policies.
Team & Stakeholder Leadership

- Initially operate as an individual contributor with the opportunity to build and lead a regional finance team as operations scale.
- Foster strong working relationships with Group Finance, Legal, Compliance, and external partners.
Are you the one?
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 8–12+ years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical expertise in financial control, statutory reporting, and Ind AS; exposure to IFRS advantageous.
- Experience within regulated financial services, fintech, capital markets, or brokerage sectors is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to establish processes, controls, and systems in a growth or build-out environment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven track record of working independently and operating effectively in ambiguous or fast-paced settings.
- Experience engaging with auditors, regulators, and senior leadership.
