Director, Advocacy Client Partnerships

Why it matters: In this role you will work with new and existing partners to build Axios’ revenue through successful client partnerships, with a focus on building and nurturing relationships with advocacy organizations, non-profits, and policy-driven entities to expand Axios's impact in the advocacy sector.

In this role you’ll:
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with advocacy groups, non-profits, policy organizations, and related agencies and stakeholders.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Axios, representing the company at events and within the advocacy community.
- Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities to drive revenue and expand Axios's presence in the advocacy space.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of partnership initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in sales, partnerships, or business development within the advocacy, non-profit, or policy sectors.
- Deep understanding of the advocacy landscape in Washington, D.C., with established relationships with key stakeholders.
- Familiarity with digital media and online marketing technologies.
- Proven track record of developing large advertising partnerships and managing a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Exceptionally collaborative, both within your own team and cross-functionally
- Willingness to travel and attend industry events and networking engagements
- Growth mindset with hunger to constantly learn and improve your craft
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to develop strategic campaigns that align with partner objectives.
- Comfortable with a mix of outbound sales strategy as well as the nurturing of inbound leads and existing client relationships
- Ability to synthesize market feedback to inform product and strategy
Starting salary for this role is in the range of $95,000 - $105,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits.
Note that the total compensation offered for this role includes incremental variable compensation based on sales territory, which is contingent upon the successful achievement of predetermined sales targets.
