Position Title(s): Field Service Controls Engineer

Position Description:  The Field Service Controls Engineer role is a position that is mainly responsible for the preparation, installation, commissioning, debugging, and customer run-off events for the custom manufacturing equipment that Axis Automation delivers at our customer facilities.  Other field related responsibilities include field service calls, contractually required machine maintenance, updating customer machinery, and troubleshooting existing equipment for our customers.  The Field Service Engineer will liaise with Axis Controls Engineers, Project Managers, and customer points of contact.  Another portion of the Field Service Engineer role is to assist with the debugging and commissioning of equipment as well as being involved with customer runoff events at the Axis Automation facility.  We are looking for a candidate with relevant work experience in Controls, great communication skills, and a great attitude. 

 

Experience: 

  • 2 or more years in Controls Engineering.
  • Experience in multiple PLC platforms is preferred (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Beckhoff, Keyence) but not required.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Well versed in reading electrical prints with respect to troubleshooting and commissioning electrical controls systems.
  • Experience with multiple robotic manufacturers is preferred (ABB, Fanuc, Kawasaki, Kuka, Nachi) but not required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot control system wiring, safety circuitry, and PLC/robot code.

 

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to work Monday – Friday with flexibility to work occasional evening and weekend hours while in the field. Willingness to travel upwards of 60%.
  • Customer service and communication skills.
  • Valid drivers license.

 

Target Compensation Range: $110,000 - $125,000 / year
