GVSU Computer/Electrical Engineering Intern Co-op

Job Title: Controls Engineer Intern

This is a 40 hour per week internship position offered in conjunction with the GVSU Career Center apprenticeship program.

The student will join our team during three rotations beginning Summer 2025 and concluding in the Fall 2026 semester.

 

Controls Engineering focus

  • Learn to design, implement and debug programs for Robots, PLCs and HMIs
  • Learn to design, wire, build and test electrical panels
  • Liaise with engineering teams to debug robots, controls systems, and manufacturing processes

In addition to pursuing a degree in a related Engineering field, a successful candidate will have:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic coupled with intellectual curiosity for how machines work
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Desire to be hands-on with machinery

 

Compensation:

  • Rotation 1 - $18.00/hour, Rotation 2 - $19.00/hour, Rotation 3 - $20.00/hour
