GVSU Mechanical Engineering Intern Co-op

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Intern
This is a 40 hour per week internship position offered in conjunction with the GVSU Career Center apprenticeship program.
The student will join our team during three rotations beginning Summer 2025 and concluding in the Fall 2026.
Mechanical Engineering focus:
- Engineer specialized automation systems and related tooling using CAD
- Learn first-hand mechanical needs of shop floor (i.e. design for manufacture, design for assembly)
- Liaise with engineering teams to debug mechanical designs and manufacturing processes
In addition to pursuing a degree in a related Engineering field, a successful candidate will have:
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic coupled with intellectual curiosity for how machines work
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Desire to be hands-on with machinery
Compensation:
- Rotation 1 - $18.00/hour, Rotation 2 - $19.00/hour, Rotation 3 - $20.00/hour
