Position Title: Accountant

Position Description: Axis Automation, a growing automated solutions provider, is seeking a full-time Accountant in our Walker, MI office. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant will be the backbone of the accounting department - preparing and executing month end journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and supporting Accounting Department financial reporting and analysis (FP&A), liaising with operations departments. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with phenomenal communication skills, impeccable accuracy and attention to detail.

• 2+ years accounting or accounting-adjacent experience.

Core responsibilities:

• Period Close Support (60%):
  • Preparing and executing month end journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Maintaining prepaids, fixed assets, and commission schedules.
  • Performing monthly credit card reconciliations, ensuring appropriate support for all transactions.
  • Compiling monthly project cost estimate worksheets for project management team.
• Accounts Receivable (25%):
  • generating customer invoices and statements, supporting collection efforts, and posting customer payments.
• Other (15%):
  • Compiling weekly check run for management approval.
  • Preparing weekly payroll journal entries.
  • Compiling and distributing weekly Labor Report.
  • Collaborating on other accounting projects as needed.

Salary: $55k-70k annually, depending on experience.
