Overview

Axle is looking to add a driven, flexible, organized, and meticulous Scientific Program Manager to our dynamic team. The Contractor(s) shall provide services in support of the overall functions of the Laboratory of Malaria Immunology and Vaccinology (LMIV), Division of Intramural Research (DIR).

 

Technical Requirements:
 

  • Interact with NIH Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property (TTIPO) office to draft and execute legal agreements for sharing laboratory reagents, scientific data, and scientific publications with collaborating laboratories around the world to advance the sciences.

  • Assist the Federal Task Leader with organizing and evaluating the lab’s scientific program, provide recommendations for prioritizing program activities and projects to align with mission, resources and budgets.

  • Provide the Federal Task Leader with various reports on budgets, logistics, agreements, personnel and the overall scientific program with a goal to improve the organization of the labs.

  • Provide assistance to the Federal Task Leader on administrative, clinical, and scientific needs through writing, reviewing, editing, or submission of documents to meet established timelines.

  • Assist the Federal Task Leader with preparing scientific presentations and reports by preparing slides, organizing data, designing graphs and tables.

  • Assist the Federal Task Leader through logistical planning and scheduling of scientific meetings, lectures, workshops, and travel suggestions.

  • Assist the Federal Task Leader through attending meetings and providing a summary report, highlighting and tracking action items that were discussed in meeting.

  • Assist the Federal Task Leader in the submission of grant applications with external partners.

  • Assist the Federal Task Leader in the management of scientific program and operations at international clinical field sites.

  • Collaborate with NIH Office of Cyber Infrastructure and Computational Biology (OCICB) to improve databases and tools in the management of clinical data.

  • Assist the Federal Task Leader with issues that involve legal, ethical, operational, administrative, and programmatic oversight for the Lab.

  • Assist the Federal Task Leader on how to budget various activities within the laboratories using established tools to set and track budgets for all units and sections of the Laboratory
    and budgets at international field sites.

  • Provide reports to the Federal Task Leader on spending rates and available budget, develops and shares budget forecasting reports.

  • Assist the Federal Task Leader on the Lab’s scientific program and provides recommendations for areas of concern and assists in developing solutions.

 

Specific Qualifications:

 

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in a science related field with three (3) years of Program Management or Program Analysist experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience managing a program for a large laboratory.

  • Background in biology, chemistry, and/or biophysics.

  • Relevant understanding of malaria vaccinology, malaria clinical trials, and laboratory organization.

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, and must be able to perform well in a team environment

  • Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Teams, SharePoint, DFExplore, and REDCap. Experience and understanding of Freezerworks, Finale, and other inventory management software suites.

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.

$130,000 - $150,000 USD
