Axle is seeking a Grants Management Specialist to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) located in ROCKVILLE, MD.

Overall Position Summary and Objectives
To provide services and deliverables through performance of support services.
Deliverables:
- Work products and documents related to resolving referral issues related to grant application assignments by negotiating and interacting with CSR and other IC staff. - Ad-Hoc
- Work products and documents related to managing requests of 901, ARA, RDA, working with CSR staff to resolve. - Ad-Hoc
- Work products and documents related to providing guidance to applicants on grants policy and NIAID standard operating procedures regarding grant applications, providing expertise and clarification to DEA and Program divisions on NIH and NIAID referral policies and procedures. - Ad-Hoc
- Work products and documents related to reviewing the IRG/SRG Reassignment/Referral section in the Peer Review Module daily to check which applications CSR/DRR have completed processing and are ready for assignment to an SRO or standing committee and making these assignments. - Ad-Hoc
Work Details:
- Resolve referral issues related to grant application assignments by negotiating and interacting with CSR and other IC staff. - 1
- Review the IRG/SRG Reassignment/Referral section in the Peer Review Module daily to check which applications CSR/DRR have completed processing and are ready for assignment to an SRO or standing committee and assigns applications accordingly. - 2
- Coordinate and execute requests of 901 (transfer, withdrawal, IRG change, etc.). - 3
- Provides technical assistance developing and analyzing the organization's grant program.
- Coordinate with Program divisions and other IC staff for ICs' referral guidelines revisions.
- Provide advice, assist staff interpret and prepare guidance interpretation and guidance on statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures as they related to the award grant program in general and as related to individual awards.
- Coordinate and execute requests of ARA (approval of big grant budget issue(s).
- Assist with managing RDA (Request for DRR Analysis) and work with CSR to resolve.
- Edit dual assignments of grant applications per request of program divisions.
- Coordinate and process disaggregation requests of grant applications.
- Attend CSR Referral Liaison meetings to keep up to date on regulations, referral policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Serve as SME on SOPs; review and update NIAID standard operating procedures related to receipt and referral.
- Coordinate negotiation of receipt date requests with DRR/CSR.
- Liaise between CSR and Program Divisions on slate nominations.
- Coordinate negotiation special emphasis panels and locus of review changes with DRR/CSR.
- Assists with reviewing grant applications and preparing responses.
- Draft correspondence to address any administrative or management issues related to grant applications.
- Assist staff review and evaluate for accuracy and completeness competing and non-competing grant applications.
- Assists in analyzing and preparing reports to track status of awards and funding.
- Update/Maintain the Grant, Flex and Contract Flex tabs on Referral.xls.
- Creates and maintains a database for grant activities.
- Develop and assign SEP names for grant applications and SEP numbers for contract proposal submissions.
- Request flex codes for new Federal SROs.
- Performs queries, conducts analysis and produces reports.
- Research and develop variety of grant related reports, summaries and dashboards to inform staff.
- Review monthly locus of review reports from CSR for PARs and RFAs Provides support and routine updates to staff.
- Provide SEP announcements to the Lead SRO and all pertinent parties, including the secondary SRO, SSRO, and assigned CPRS and RS via email, memorandum, etc.
- Communicate council deferrals to CSR Identifies grants that are ready for final processing.
- Delete empty SEPs in IMPAC.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 represents priority rankings, where 1 is highest priority and 5 is lowest priority of those ranked

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
Salary Range
$63,000 - $68,000 USD
