Your Impact
As a Professional Services Manager II (PSM2) for Axon Air, you will lead the deployment of Axon drone technology for law enforcement, enterprise, and public safety agencies. This elevated role requires advanced technical proficiency, deep program management expertise, and the ability to independently manage complex deployments.
You will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert (SME), ensuring customers not only adopt Axon Air solutions but also realize their full potential to transform workflows and enhance organizational effectiveness. By combining advanced technical skills, regulatory knowledge, and consultative leadership, you will accelerate customer adoption, influence program expansion, and deliver long-term success.
What You’ll Do
Location: Remotely from the United States with up to 80% travel
Reports to: Manager, Professional Services
Direct Reports: 0
- Engage with agency leaders (e.g., Chiefs of Police, Sheriffs, Command Staff, Directors of IT) and drone program managers during pre- and post-sale phases to design and enhance UAS programs.
- Contribute to pre-sale efforts by conducting needs assessments, providing technical demonstrations, creating deployment plans, and guiding agencies through T&E engagements.
- Lead and manage large and/or complex program implementations, ensuring readiness, compliance with FAA Part 107, and seamless integration with third-party vendors.
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact, providing advanced guidance on drone operations, system configurations, and SaaS integrations.
- Develop, schedule, and deliver advanced drone-related training programs for agencies, ensuring technical proficiency and long-term adoption.
- Mentor Axon Air PSMs and cross-functional partners, sharing expertise, workflows, and best practices.
- Use project management tools (e.g., Smartsheets) to define scope, track milestones, mitigate risks, and communicate status to stakeholders.
- Capture and communicate customer feedback, including feature requests and operational challenges, to inform internal teams and product roadmaps.
- Stay current with UAS technologies, FAA regulations, and emerging trends; contribute to product testing, evaluations, and recommendations.
What You Bring
- BS/BA or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years of professional services, technical deployment, or UAS program management experience.
- Demonstrated success leading complex technical deployments and customer-facing projects.
- FAA Part 107 certification required (advanced certifications strongly preferred).
- Advanced expertise in UAS platforms (DJI, Skydio, SkyHero, Fotokite), detection systems (Dedrone), and drone management software (DroneSense).
- Experience with network infrastructure, data management, or SaaS integrations preferred.
- Strong project management, organizational, and consultative skills with proven ability to influence executive and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with experience providing in-person technical instruction in operational or high-stakes environments.
- Ability to work independently while also mentoring peers and junior team members.
- Willingness to travel weekly across North America (potential for international travel).
- Familiarity with law enforcement, security, or military operations strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working in elevated positions, climbing, working with hand tools, and lifted objects
- Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Service (CJIS) background check and maintain CJIS clearance. Handle confidential and highly sensitive information.
