Your Impact

We are hiring a senior, licensed electrical professional to serve as the electrical subject matter expert (SME) within Axon’s Vehicle Intelligence Professional Services organization. This role is responsible for owning the AC electrical infrastructure scope for a growing portfolio of fixed, pole-mounted, and roadside technology deployments, including Automated License Plate Reader and related Vehicle Intelligence solutions. This Professional Services Manager will partner closely with customers, vendors, Sales, Product, and Deployment teams to ensure electrical feasibility, accurate scoping, and compliant execution. The role blends hands-on electrical expertise with program leadership, acting as the authority on power, infrastructure readiness, and electrical risk across complex deployments. This is not a traditional field electrician role — it is a strategic technical leadership position designed to de-risk delivery, control cost, accelerate deal velocity, and scale deployment throughout.

Vehicle Intelligence deployments increasingly depend on reliable, compliant AC infrastructure. This role ensures Axon scales faster, delivers with confidence, and avoids unnecessary cost and risk by embedding licensed electrical expertise directly into Professional Services. This position directly supports revenue and deal velocity by enabling Axon to self-qualify for deployments that require licensed electrical oversight, accelerating permitting and inspections, and reducing late-stage electrical risk.
This is a high-impact role with visibility across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations — ideal for a senior electrical professional who wants to influence strategy, not just installations.

What You'll Do

Location: Remote in the US, with 25% US-based travel

Electrical & Infrastructure Ownership

  • Own electrical feasibility, design review, and scope definition for AC‑powered Vehicle Intelligence deployments.
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure (utility power, poles, cabinets, metering, grounding) and determine required electrical work.
  • Define compliant electrical approaches aligned with NEC, local AHJs, and utility requirements.
  • Serve as final authority on electrical assumptions used in proposals, SOWs, and deployment plans.

Subject Matter Expertise (Internal & External)

  • Act as the primary electrical SME for customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Support Sales and Pre-Sales by validating electrical scope, risk, and cost during deal qualification.
  • Advise Product and Engineering on electrical design constraints, installation standards, and field realities.
  • Represent Axon credibly with inspectors, utilities, and permitting authorities when required.
  • Serve as Axon’s qualifying individual for electrical contractor licensing requirements where applicable.
  • Act as QA authority for projects that require an Electrical Contractor’s license.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Review vendor proposals, pricing, and scope for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate over‑scoping, under‑scoping, and non‑compliant vendor practices.
  • Establish repeatable electrical standards and playbooks for partners.

Program & Delivery Leadership

  • Lead electrical risk management for deployments, identifying issues early and driving resolution.
  • Support Professional Services Managers and Deployment Managers with electrical decision-making.
  • Create and maintain electrical SOPs, scoping templates, and training materials.
  • Drive consistency and scalability across regions as Vehicle Intelligence deployments grow.
  • Participate in selective site walks, inspections, and field validations to de-risk complex deployments (travel ~25%).

What You Bring

  • Must have an active North Carolina Electrical Contractor (EC) license, in good standing.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical infrastructure, commercial power systems, or related fields.
  • Deep knowledge of AC electrical systems, including services, panels, grounding, conduit, and outdoor installations.
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Demonstrated experience scoping, estimating, or overseeing electrical work for commercial or municipal projects.
  • Ability to translate technical electrical requirements into clear business and delivery decisions.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers, inspectors, utilities, and executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • North Carolina Alarm Systems Licensing Board license.
  • Master Electrician license or equivalent advanced credential.
  • Experience supporting camera, ALPR, ITS, EVSE, security, or smart‑city deployments.
  • Experience working with utilities, pole owners, and public‑sector customers.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
