Scottsdale, Arizona, United States

Join Axon and be a Force for Good.

At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

Global Security plays a critical role in protecting Axon's people, facilities, operations, and reputation.  As the Crisis Management Program Manager, you will build and lead the programs that enable the organization to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive events.

Serving as the operational heartbeat and connective tissue across Global Security and key business partners; including Legal, HR, Workplace, Communications, IT, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership, you will establish the frameworks, governance, and relationships that transform crisis management from a reactive function into a strategic enterprise capability.

This is a unique opportunity to build a program from the ground up, influence executive decision-making, and help shape the future of Global Security at one of the world's most innovative technology companies.

What You'll Do

Build Axon's Preparedness Program

This role offers a unique opportunity to build a capability that will shape how Axon prepares for and responds to critical events around the world.  Working across Global Security and key business partners, you will design and mature the frameworks, governance, and operational standards that enable coordinated, confident decision-making when it matters most.  Success in this role will be measured not only by how effectively crises are managed, but by how well the organization is prepared before they occur.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for Axon's Crisis Management Program, ensuring it evolves alongside the company's global growth and operational complexity.
  • Design and maintain enterprise crisis management frameworks, governance, standards, and response methodologies that promote consistency across the organization.
  • Build and continuously refine crisis playbooks, decision support tools, and operational procedures that enable rapid, coordinated responses to a broad range of scenarios.
  • Champion a culture of preparedness by establishing sustainable processes that improve organizational readiness and strengthen enterprise resilience over time.

Lead Enterprise Crisis Coordination

When critical events occur, effective coordination becomes just as important as the response itself. In this role, you will provide the structure, leadership, and operational discipline that enable cross-functional teams to respond as one.  By establishing clear decision-making frameworks, escalation protocols, and communication pathways, you will help ensure the right people are engaged at the right time with the information they need to make informed decisions.

Working alongside the GSOC, Physical Security, Threat Intelligence, Workplace, HR, Legal, Communications, IT, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership, you will help orchestrate coordinated responses that minimize operational disruption, protect our people, and strengthen confidence across the organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the coordination of cross-functional crisis response activities during significant security incidents and disruptive events.
  • Develop and maintain crisis activation procedures, escalation matrices, and decision-support frameworks that enable timely, consistent responses.
  • Facilitate Crisis Management Team (CMT) meetings, ensuring clear accountability, actionable decisions, and effective follow-through.
  • Prepare executive situation reports and operational updates that provide leaders with timely, accurate, and actionable information.
  • Coordinate post-incident reviews, capturing lessons learned and driving measurable improvements across the Crisis Management Program.

Strengthen Executive Decision-Making

During rapidly evolving situations, timely information and thoughtful coordination can significantly influence business outcomes. In this role, you will help transform complex, fast-moving events into clear, actionable intelligence that enables leaders to make informed decisions with confidence. Working closely with the Crisis Management Team (CMT), GSOC, Threat Intelligence, and executive stakeholders, you will ensure decision-makers have the right information, at the right time, in the right format.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop executive briefing templates, situation reports, and decision-support tools that provide clarity during complex events.
  • Coordinate executive notification and escalation processes for significant incidents affecting people, operations, facilities, or reputation.
  • Partner with Global Security leadership to ensure executive communications remain timely, accurate, and aligned throughout an incident.
  • Support executive travel, strategic events, and other high-profile activities by integrating preparedness planning into broader security operations.
  • Continuously improve executive crisis support processes based on lessons learned and evolving business needs.

Build Trusted Partnerships Across Axon

Effective crisis management begins long before an incident occurs. Success in this role will depend on your ability to build trusted relationships across the organization, creating alignment before critical decisions need to be made. You'll become a recognized partner to leaders throughout Axon, helping departments understand how preparedness strengthens business continuity, supports operational excellence, and enables the company to respond with confidence during times of uncertainty.

Through collaboration, influence, and credibility, you'll strengthen Global Security's position as a trusted business partner while fostering a shared culture of preparedness across the enterprise.

You will:

  • Build trusted partnerships with leaders across Legal, HR, Workplace, IT, Manufacturing, Communications, GRC, Physical Security, GSOC, Threat Intelligence, and other business functions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions that align roles, responsibilities, and response expectations before incidents occur.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for enterprise crisis preparedness initiatives, ensuring stakeholders remain informed, engaged, and aligned.
  • Promote preparedness through education, consultation, and relationship-building across the organization.
  • Represent Global Security in cross-functional meetings, projects, and strategic initiatives where crisis preparedness and organizational resilience are key considerations.

Advance Preparedness Through Technology & Innovation

Technology plays a critical role in enabling effective crisis management, but its true value lies in how it simplifies decision-making, strengthens situational awareness, and enhances organizational preparedness. In this role, you will continuously evaluate and improve the tools, processes, and technologies that support Axon's Crisis Management Program, ensuring they evolve alongside the company's growth and operational needs.

You'll help shape the future of crisis management by identifying opportunities to leverage automation, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and emerging technologies that improve readiness, reduce complexity, and enable faster, more informed decision-making across the enterprise.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the evolution of technology and digital capabilities that support Axon's Crisis Management Program.
  • Develop meaningful dashboards, reporting, and performance metrics that provide visibility into organizational preparedness and program maturity.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI, and data-driven insights to improve crisis management processes and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain the digital resources, documentation, and information systems that support rapid activation and coordinated response.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously strengthen Axon's preparedness capability.

Champion Continuous Learning & Organizational Resilience

The strongest crisis management programs are built on continuous learning, not perfect execution.  Every exercise, incident, and emerging threat presents an opportunity to strengthen Axon's preparedness and improve how we operate.  In this role, you will foster a culture of learning by capturing insights, challenging existing assumptions, and translating experience into meaningful improvements that increase organizational resilience over time.

You'll help ensure that preparedness is never static; continuously evolving our frameworks, processes, and capabilities as Axon grows, technology advances, and the global risk landscape changes.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead enterprise tabletop exercises, functional drills, and preparedness assessments that validate plans and strengthen organizational readiness.
  • Conduct after-action reviews that identify opportunities for improvement and translate lessons learned into measurable enhancements.
  • Develop readiness metrics that help leaders understand program maturity, preparedness trends, and opportunities for continued investment.
  • Monitor emerging risks, industry best practices, and evolving threats to ensure Axon's preparedness program remains modern, relevant, and effective.
  • Champion a mindset of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation, collaboration, and organizational learning across Global Security and enterprise partners.

What You Bring

The Leader We're Looking For

Building an enterprise crisis management capability requires more than technical expertise. We're looking for a builder; someone who thrives in ambiguity, earns trust through relationships, and sees opportunities where others see obstacles.  You'll be equally comfortable briefing executives, facilitating cross-functional planning sessions, improving operational processes, and leading the organization through complex events with confidence and composure.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational excellence, understanding that the strongest crisis management programs are built long before they're needed.

Experience That Will Help You Thrive

Building an enterprise crisis management capability requires a unique combination of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and relationship leadership. While no candidate will possess every experience listed below, the most successful leaders will bring a demonstrated ability to build programs, influence across organizations, and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments where ambiguity is an opportunity rather than a barrier.

Experience that will help you thrive includes:

  • Building or maturing enterprise crisis management, emergency management, business continuity, resilience, or related programs.
  • Leading complex, cross-functional initiatives that require influence rather than direct authority.
  • Developing executive briefings, governance frameworks, operational playbooks, or strategic response plans.
  • Partnering effectively with senior leaders and diverse business functions to solve complex organizational challenges.
  • Leveraging technology, data, and innovation to improve operational effectiveness and organizational preparedness.
  • Translating lessons learned into sustainable improvements that strengthen long-term organizational capability.

Education & Core Qualifications

Rather than treating qualifications as a checklist, we value demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and a proven ability to build and influence enterprise programs. If your experience aligns with the mission of this role, we encourage you to apply—even if your background doesn't match every qualification exactly.

Core qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Experience leading or supporting crisis management, emergency management, enterprise security, business continuity, resilience, or related operational programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated project and program management experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment.

Certifications & Experience That Differentiate You

Experience in any of the following areas will help accelerate your success in this role:

  • Crisis Management
  • Emergency Management
  • Business Continuity
  • Corporate Security
  • Enterprise Risk
  • Threat Intelligence
  • Executive Protection
  • FEMA / ICS
  • CPP
  • CBCP
  • MBCI
  • PMP

How You Lead

The most successful leaders in this role combine humility with confidence, strategy with execution, and preparation with action. They build trust through relationships, remain composed under pressure, and inspire confidence by bringing clarity to complexity.

You don't need to have all the answers—you need to know how to bring the right people together to solve the right problems.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Lead with integrity and sound judgment.
  • Build trust across teams and functions.
  • Communicate with clarity, confidence, and empathy.
  • Stay calm and decisive during periods of uncertainty.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve people, processes, and technology.
  • Think strategically while executing with operational discipline.
  • Embrace innovation and challenge conventional thinking.
  • Take ownership, inspire confidence, and leave programs stronger than you found them.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role isn't measured by the number of incidents you manage—it's measured by how prepared Axon becomes because of the capability you've built.

Within your first 12 to 18 months, you'll establish the foundation of a world-class Crisis Management Program that strengthens executive decision-making, improves organizational preparedness, and reinforces Global Security as a trusted enterprise partner.

You'll know you're successful when:

  • Axon has a mature, scalable Crisis Management Program that supports the company's continued global growth.
  • Executive leaders have confidence in the processes, tools, and information available during significant events.
  • Cross-functional partners view Global Security as a trusted advisor in preparedness planning and crisis coordination.
  • Crisis playbooks, exercises, and governance become embedded into the organization's operating rhythm.
  • Technology, automation, and innovation simplify crisis management while improving organizational visibility and readiness.
  • Every significant event results in measurable improvements that leave the organization stronger than before.

Don’t meet every single requirement? That's ok. At Axon, we Aim Far. We think big with a long-term view because we want to reinvent the world to be a safer, better place. We are also committed to building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
