Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist will work collaboratively with the HR/Payroll team and assist with the processing of Canadian, USA & UK payroll. If you are driven to make a difference, passionate about learning and growing, come join our dream team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Process CAD & USA payroll in accordance with policies and standards
- Administer the payroll process, changes in pay and deductions
- Respond to day to day requests from active and former employees as well as various requests from Management
- Provide guidance to all departments/employees in the area of payroll
- Investigate payroll issues, identify causes, and formulate recommendations
- Complete required reporting in a timely manner
- Prepare and deliver various reports such as employment records and other documents
- Validate correct processing of data entries
- Assist with payroll journal entries, payroll accruals, and Monthly Payroll Analysis for the Finance Department
- Provide reports to accounting on a regular basis
- Issue ROEs
- Administer year-end reconciliation and preparation of required government documents
- Maintain confidential employee personnel files
What you’ll need to be successful:
Must Haves:
- Minimum 2 years of payroll experience
- Excellent knowledge / experience processing for Quebec
- Knowledge processing of special payments such as commissions and bonuses
- Knowledge of employment law legislation and CRA regulations
- Advanced excel skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn about US payroll
- Excellent problem solving skills, logical and innovative thinker
Nice to Haves:
- CPA certification
- Accounting experience
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce
- Knowledge of U.S payroll
