QA Analyst (Combat Specialist)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced QA Analyst specializing in combat testing to join our Azra development team. You will be the internal point of reference for all combat-related testing (flow and feel of combat, animations, hit registration, balancing), responsible for creating test plans, defining QA strategy, identifying process gaps and improvements, and leading the efforts of external testing teams in this particular area.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manual Combat Testing, with an emphasis on multiple character teams and hot swapping of characters.
  • Teaching and mentoring external QA teams on combat-driven.
  • Own the QA processes pertaining to combat, ensuring we have flexible and scalable processes to support both internal and external QA.
  • Manage communications between the QA team and the rest of the org, communicating risks and state of features.
  • Monitor the state of the build, providing clear reports and signals for when things are on an unhealthy trajectory. Be analytical in how the team is operating, providing metrics around performance.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify how the team is tracking towards quality goals and find strategies for ensuring we are always meeting and/or exceeding them.

 

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience in a QA role.
  • Mobile game industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Unity is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of combat feel and flow, as well as animations.
  • Leadership experience overseeing external QA teams.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and high attention to detail.

Base Salary Range: $81,800 - $122,700 The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
