Lead Quest Designer
We are looking for a Lead Quest Designer to shape immersive narratives and compelling quests in our upcoming ARPG title. You will drive the development of engaging quest content, ensuring a strong synergy between gameplay, world-building, and narrative. As a leader, you will mentor a team of designers, collaborating closely with writers, artists, and engineers to create unforgettable player experiences.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement quests, missions, and narrative sequences that align with the game’s vision and world-building.
- Develop and refine quest structures, and emergent storytelling to enhance immersion.
- Manage and mentor a team of quest and narrative designers, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
- Work closely with writers, level designers, and combat designers to ensure quest experiences are engaging and well-integrated.
- Oversee the implementation of cutscenes, dialogue systems, and narrative-driven mechanics in collaboration with engineers and artists.
- Contribute to the game’s lore, world-building, and faction dynamics to create a deep, believable world.
- Ensure that quests support the game’s meta-systems, progression, and player agency.
- Review and iterate on quest content based on playtesting, feedback, and data analysis.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in game design, with a focus on quest/narrative design.
- Shipped at least one RPG or ARPG with strong quest-driven gameplay.
- Hands-on experience in world-building, crafting engaging settings, factions, and lore.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance and structure.
Recommended Qualifications
- Passion for Genshin Impact or similar games, with an understanding of its quest design and player engagement.
- Experience in mobile freemium design and monetization strategies.
- Practical experience implementing cutscenes, dialogue systems, and interactive narrative sequences.
- Strong writing skills, capable of drafting compelling quest dialogue and story arcs.
- Familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine, including quest scripting and implementation.
- Open-world design experience, with a focus on non-linear quest structures and dynamic events.
- A strong interest in dark fantasy themes, with the ability to craft narratives that explore morally complex worlds.

Base Salary Range: $127,000 - $190,000 The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
