Position Purpose

The Senior Manager, Marketing is accountable for defining and driving the commercial vision, brand strategy, and lifecycle management of products across the Europe & International portfolio. The role serves as the strategic marketing lead for assigned brands and franchises, ensuring strong commercial positioning, launch readiness, revenue growth, and long-term value creation. This position acts as the commercial voice across cross-functional teams and translates portfolio opportunities into executable commercial strategies that drive business results. The role works closely with Commercial Leads, Commercial Operations, Medical, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and Franchise Portfolio Managers to maximize product value throughout the lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Brand Leadership

  • Define and lead the commercial vision and execution strategy for assigned products and franchises. 
  • Develop long-term brand strategies, portfolio plans, and commercial roadmaps. 
  • Lead annual brand planning processes and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Assess market opportunities, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and evolving healthcare environments to inform strategy. · Drive lifecycle management strategies to maximize long-term asset value.
  • Serve as the commercial voice in franchise and portfolio discussions. 

Portfolio & Product Lifecycle Management

  • Lead commercialization planning across the product lifecycle. 
  • Support Franchise Portfolio Managers in stage-gate decisions and portfolio prioritization. 
  • Develop commercial recommendations for new product opportunities and market expansions.
  •  Evaluate commercial potential and revenue opportunities for pipeline and in-line assets.
  • Support geographic expansion decisions and go-to-market model recommendations. 

Launch Excellence

  • Ensure end-to-end marketing launch readiness for new product launches and new product/market combinations. 
  • Develop launch strategies, positioning, messaging, and channel approaches. 
  • Lead cross-functional launch planning and alignment. 
  • Ensure readiness of promotional materials, training tools, and market activation plans. 
  • Monitor launch performance versus objectives and implement corrective actions where required. 

Commercial Execution & Performance 

  • Translate strategy into executable tactical plans. 
  • Optimize commercial performance through proactive identification of risks and opportunities. 
  • Continuously evaluate market performance and recommend course corrections. 
  • Support achievement of revenue, profitability, and market share objectives. 
  • Monitor competitor activities and implement strategic responses as appropriate.

Sales Force & Partner Enablement 

  • Lead development of commercial tactics and customer engagement programs. 
  • Create sales force and distribution partner enablement materials. 
  • Establish consistent commercial messaging across markets and channels. 
  • Act as brand ambassador with internal stakeholders and external commercial partners. 
  • Support commercial capability development and best practice sharing across markets. 

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams in development and execution of brand plans. 
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial Leads, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Finance, and Franchise Portfolio Managers. 
  • Ensure alignment of commercial priorities across functions.
  • Influence decision-making through strategic insights and data-driven recommendations. 

Decision Rights

The Senior Manager, Marketing is accountable for recommending and/or approving the following areas, in alignment with Commercial Leads who maintain accountability for business performance and market execution.

  • Brand strategy and positioning Commercial launch strategies
  • Promotional messaging and tactical plans
  • Brand investment priorities
  • Forecast assumptions supporting commercial plans
  • Lifecycle management recommendations
  • Sales force and partner enablement strategies
  • Commercial performance optimization initiatives

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred. 
  • Significant pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience. 
  • Proven success in strategic marketing, brand management, and commercialization. 
  • Experience launching specialty and/or hospital products preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of commercial operations, forecasting, analytics, and market access. 
  • Experience working within complex cross-functional organizations. 
  • International business experience preferred.
