Babel Street’s Revenue Team is seeking a Sales Engineer to support our Japan and Korea Markets, who wants to join a growing, industry-leading software company.  As a Sales Engineer, you will spend the majority of your time focusing on ensuring successful use of the Babel Street platform by customers.  You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities for growth both for net new business and also within existing accounts, including upsell and cross sell opportunities.  The right candidate for this role will be adept at connecting with partners and end users and guiding them through how Babel Street software can support their mission set.  Professionalism, strong work ethic, adaptability and ability to handle multiple requirements at once are keys to quota achievement and ultimate sales success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work hand-in-hand with sales to conduct and lead meetings from a technical perspective.
  • Assist with the presentation of technical demos, requirements gathering, project scoping, and other sales-related activities for potential clients.
  • Develop and deliver outstanding webinars, presentations, and demonstrations to individual clients and groups of prospective clients.
  • Constantly help improve Babel Street’s pre-sales and sales processes and activities to improve the client experience and our internal sales metrics.
  • Remain up to date on Babel Street products and maintain familiarity with and adherence to all company methods and procedures.
  • Assist with detailed project scoping for prospective clients.
  • Facilitate renewals and upsells with your assigned clients, including fully supporting the contracting requirements.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree to include three (5) years of experience in any research, intelligence, or threat analysis position.
  • 5+ years as a successful Pre-Sales Engineer OR 5+ years in a Sales Engineering role that is client facing and involves sales scenarios.
  • Experience working in an OSINT field and using analytical tools.
  • Experience working in an AI/NLP/ML, as well as conversant with software uses for national security cases.
  • Must be authorized to work in Japan.
  • Capable of communicating with company support functions in English language.

Requirements:

  • Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • Willingness to travel 20-40% to customer locations (pending observation of government-instituted travel restrictions)
  • Understanding of MS Office and accounting management tools like SFDC or equivalents are important.
