Babel Street is recruiting for a Facility Security Officer (FSO) As FSO you will manage Babel Street’s security program, ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and other applicable government regulations. You will oversee personnel security processes, classified material handling, secure facility operations, and act as the primary liaison with U.S. government security representatives.
What you will do:
- Manage all personnel security clearances, including initiating investigations, maintaining clearance records in DISS, processing NBIS submissions, and tracking reinvestigations and periodic reviews.
- Serve as the primary interface with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other U.S. government agencies regarding inspections, audits, and security compliance.
- Coordinate and manage all on-site government visits, including DCSA inspections, contract sponsor reviews, and other official engagements.
- Verify clearances through DISS, process and track Visit Authorization Requests (VARs), and ensure compliance with escort and access control procedures.
- Sanitize secure areas in advance of classified meetings and maintain proper records of visits.
- Maintain the company’s Facility Clearance (FCL) and manage all personnel clearance activities using DISS, NISS, and NBIS
- Administer and document security education and awareness training, including initial briefings, annual refreshers, insider threat, and foreign travel.
- Oversee proper classification, storage, transmission, and destruction of classified materials.
- Conduct internal self-inspections and manage corrective actions following DCSA reviews.
- Serve as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO) in accordance with NISPOM and SEAD 3 requirements.
- Collaborate with IT/cybersecurity teams to support classified systems compliance under RMF/NIST frameworks.
- Support contract proposals, DD254s, and sponsor security requirements.
What you will bring:
- Active DoD Secret clearance required; TS/SCI strongly preferred.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a government or defense contractor environment, with at least 3 years in an FSO or AFSO role.
- Current completion of CDSE's FSO for Possessing Facilities certification.
- Strong working knowledge of the NISPOM, SEADs, and related DoD/IC directives.
- Familiarity with DISS, NISS, NBIS and industrial security procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and clear communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing classified visits, inspections, or facility reviews involving government personnel (e.g., DCSA, DoD, or IC).
- Knowledge of COMSEC, OPSEC, SAP/SCI security procedures, or foreign disclosure processes.
- Additional CDSE certifications: Insider Threat, Information Security, or Personnel Security.
- Experience working within a hybrid or multi-site facility clearance environment.

$115,000 - $140,000 USD
