Our Ways of Working

Our Fulfillment Center team works on-site to support our physical operations and plays a vital role in delivering the Babylist experience.

Our partner teams are distributed remotely across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. To foster strong relationships, we meet in person at least twice a year—once as a company and once within our departments. Whether in person or remote, we show up consistently, stay focused on our purpose, and deliver results—together, from anywhere.

This role supports our NIght Shift, reporting on-site, Sunday to Thursday, 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM (4/10 schedule) at our Fulfillment Center in Commercial Point, Ohio.

What the Role Is

Babylist is hiring a confident and operationally driven Night Shift Fulfillment Operations Manager to lead our overnight team at our Fulfillment Center in Commercial Point, Ohio. In this role, you’ll oversee safe, accurate, and efficient operations while guiding a team of 80+ teammates to perform at their best and stay engaged.

This role is not just about keeping the shift running. You’ll be making an impact at a foundational level—establishing processes, setting standards, and building a culture that will shape how our fulfillment center operates for years to come. You’ll be trusted to handle challenges independently, from driving operational performance to resolving employee relations issues, all while fostering an environment built on respect, fairness, and accountability.

Who You Are

  • Proven Builder: You have a history of success in building operational excellence from the ground up, particularly in startup or high-growth environments
  • Experienced Leader: You bring 10+ years of management experience, with at least 5 years in warehouse operations, successfully managing teams of 80+ people. You’ve led overnight or third-shift teams and understand how to motivate and support them
  • Decisive and Confident: You’re comfortable making important decisions on your own during the shift, ensuring safety, fairness, and productivity even without direct senior leadership or HR support on site
  • People Developer: You coach and mentor your direct reports and support them in coaching their own teammates, creating a culture where development and accountability happen at every level
  • Inclusive Leader: You respect and value people from all cultures and backgrounds, building trust and belonging so teammates feel supported and teams thrive
  • High Integrity: You set clear boundaries, stick to them, and hold yourself and others accountable while modeling the behavior you expect
  • Tech Savvy: You are proficient in Google Suite and collaboration platforms like Slack or Microsoft Teams, which are critical to our daily work
  • Proven Impact: You can demonstrate measurable outcomes where your leadership has directly improved operations, team performance, or culture
  • Startup Mindset: You’re comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in fast-moving, ever-changing environments. You know how to build structure and processes in places where they don’t yet exist
  • Operational Expert: You bring deep expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS), along with strong knowledge of inventory control and workflow optimization. Experience with HighJump/Koerber is a strong plus
  • Results-Oriented Leader: You’re data-driven, understand KPIs, and consistently deliver results in fast-paced, high-volume environments
  • Collaborative Partner: You build strong cross-shift and cross-department relationships that keep the broader operation aligned
  • Safety-First Leader: You foster a culture where safety is non-negotiable and compliance is built into every process

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Drive Overnight Operational Excellence: Lead, monitor, and optimize workflows to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, while maintaining smooth handoffs to day shift teams
  • Lead with Confidence: Serve as the on-site leader for overnight operations, trusted to resolve challenges and make decisions that keep the team safe, engaged, and productive
  • Develop High-Performing Teams: Coach and mentor your direct reports, giving them the tools, feedback, and support they need to succeed. Partner with them to ensure they are actively coaching and developing their own teammates, creating a culture where growth and accountability exist at every level
  • Foster a Positive Culture: Build an inclusive, motivating environment where people feel respected, supported, and accountable
  • Address HR and ER Issues in Real Time: Navigate employee relations issues fairly and consistently, de-escalating and resolving situations on the spot while protecting both the employee experience and business needs
  • Deliver Results: Consistently achieve or exceed operational KPIs by leveraging data, analyzing performance trends, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Enhance Safety and Compliance: Ensure all employees follow safety standards and protocols, minimizing risk and maintaining a secure workplace
  • Leverage Technology: Use WMS systems to streamline operations, reduce waste, and improve accuracy. Experience with HighJump/Koerber is highly valued
  • Plan for the Future: Anticipate upcoming business needs and ensure your team, processes, and systems are ready to meet them
  • Collaborate Across the Business: Partner with other shift leaders, warehouse functions, and corporate teams to align priorities, share insights, and ensure consistency across operations

While this role involves leadership and oversight responsibilities, it also requires regular physical presence and activity on the fulfillment floor. Physical expectations include:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10–12 hours per shift) with scheduled breaks
  • Ability to walk the floor extensively, averaging 10,000+ steps per day
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 20 lbs occasionally throughout the shift

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
