About the Role
We are seeking a Sr. Manager of RevOps Accounting to own and lead the end-to-end revenue accounting function. This person will be a key partner to cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Legal, Product, and Engineering and will be instrumental in ensuring revenue recognition policies and operations scale effectively with the business.
What You’ll Do
Close Management
- Lead end-to-end revenue accounting operations, including but not limited to daily invoice/order approval and credit approval.
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close process, ensuring timely and accurate ledger entries, account receivable, allowance and related account reconciliations, and disclosures.
- Prepare revenue variance analysis, executive dashboards, and financial statement disclosures for leadership and board presentations.
Process Ownership & Sales Operations (The "RevOps" Engine)
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP for all revenu
- e streams (subscription, consumption-based billing, and other business models).
- Maintain, adhere and enforce the company’s global revenue recognition policies.
Audit Support
- Lead the revenue portion of quarterly and annual external audit, serving as the main point of contact for auditors on operational revenue data.
- Accounts Receivable and Collection Management
- Collections Strategy: Design, implement, and monitor a proactive collections strategy to minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and optimize working capital.
- Delinquency Monitoring: Closely monitor AR aging schedules to identify delinquent accounts, trends in late payments, and potential credit risks.
- Escalated Follow-Ups: Act as the primary escalation point for high-value or highly sensitive delinquent accounts, directly negotiating payment plans or resolutions with customer finance teams.
- Processor Evaluation & Migration: Lead the financial and operational evaluation of our merchant processing infrastructure, including building business cases for migrating from Stripe to alternative enterprise platforms (e.g., Adyen, Checkout.com, Airwallex).
Strategic Partnership, Technical Oversight & Team Leadership
- Act as the primary deputy to the Director of Revenue Accounting, operationalizing new accounting policies and translating complex technical memorandums into scalable system workflows.
- Forecasting Collaboration: Partner with FP&A and Director of Revenue Accounting to provide accurate data inputs for revenue and deferred revenue forecasting.
- Deal Desk Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Legal, and Sales Operations during contract negotiations to assess the accounting treatment and revenue impact before deals are finalized.
- Mentor and manage revenue accounting staff, ensuring alignment with business priorities and individual development goals.
Systems Automation and Process Improvement
- System Ownership: Lead and support the implementation and optimization of revenue automation tools (NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management, Orb etc.).
- System Architecture: Collaborate with IT/Business Systems to implement, upgrade, or optimize revenue automation tools (NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management, Orb, Salesforce).
- Data Integrity: Ensure data cleanliness and seamless syncing between sales inputs and financial outputs.
- Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) Ownership: Streamline the workflows between CRM (Salesforce) and the Orb billing system to reduce billing errors and leakage.
- New Product Introductions (NPI): Partner with Product and Sales Ops to ensure new pricing models, SKUs, and billing structures can be accurately tracked and automated by the accounting team.
- Leverage AI to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability of revenue operation process.
SOX Compliance
- ASC 606 & SOX Compliance: Drive the continuous improvement of internal controls over revenue recognition; own the operational compliance of multi-element arrangements and complex contract modifications. Design, implement, and maintain strong SOX compliance controls over the order-to-cash and revenue recognition cycles.
- Process Improvement: Design, establish and maintain scalable revenue processes and controls to support rapid growth and operational efficiency.
Commission Management
- Commission Plan Review & Alignment: Partner with Sales Operations and HR to review upcoming Sales Commission Plans. Ensure plans are structured for operational feasibility and evaluate their accounting impact under ASC 340-40 (deferred contract costs).
- Monthly Commission Calculation: Oversee the end-to-end monthly commission cycle. This includes calculating payouts based on sales performance metrics, maintaining commission schedules, and validating data accuracy across CRM and payroll systems.
- Amortization Management: Manage the capitalization and amortization schedules of sales commissions, aligning the expense recognition with the lifetime of the underlying customer contracts.
The Right Fit
- 8+ years of relevant accounting and revenue operations experience including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Deep understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition practices for SaaS and consumption-based business models.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with ERP, billing, and revenue operations platforms is strongly preferred, including but not limited to: Netsuite, Salesforce, SPIFF, Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse, Tableau, etc.
- Candidates with hands-on experience leading or supporting system integration projects (e.g., ERP-to-billing data flows, commission platform configuration, or CRM-to-revenue system connections) will be given strong preference.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, coupled with a proactive and strategic mindset. Willingness to roll up their sleeves.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and practical experience with SQL are highly valued and will significantly contribute to success in this role

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses or credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.
The expected salary range for this role is $157,000 - $205,000.
