Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist
The Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting global regulatory and product compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions, including the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and other applicable markets. The role focuses on operational execution and management of regulatory compliance programs involving product safety, environmental compliance, sustainability regulations, and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations, to name a few.
What you'll be doing:
Global Product and Environmental Regulatory Compliance
- Support compliance activities related to U.S. and European product, environmental, and sustainability regulations including RoHS, REACH, TSCA, CA Prop 65, PFAS, WEEE, Battery Regulations, Packaging EPR, EU DPP, Energy Efficiency Regulations, Conflict Minerals, and Anti-Human Slavery laws.
- Help in tracking regulatory developments, emerging requirements, and changes in applicable regulations.
- Maintain regulatory documentation, declarations, certifications, and compliance records to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance obligations.
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Reporting and Regulatory Submissions
- Prepare, validate, and support submission of EPR reports and related regulatory filings for packaging, batteries, WEEE, and other environmental compliance programs.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) to collect, validate, and reconcile reporting data and supporting documentation.
- Monitor EPR registration requirements, reporting schedules, deadlines, and compliance deliverables to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Supplier Compliance and Vendor Management
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors through email and other communication channels to collect and manage regulatory compliance documentation, including FMDs, declarations, certifications, and laboratory reports as needed.
- Review and validate supplier-provided compliance documentation for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory alignment.
- Support escalation and follow-up activities for incomplete, inaccurate, or missing supplier compliance documentation.
FMD Assessment, BOM Analysis, and Product Compliance Evaluation
- Perform Full Material Declaration (FMD) assessment and validation using IPC, Excel-based submissions and other formats to support regulatory compliance evaluations.
- Conduct BOM analysis and material composition reviews to identify potential compliance risks, restricted substances, or documentation gaps.
- Analyze and interpret UL and NRTL-accredited laboratory reports from testing agencies such as SGS, Intertek, and Bureau Veritas to support product compliance assessments as needed.
Regulatory Systems, Data Management, and Tracking
- Maintain and update compliance information, regulatory records, and product data within internal compliance databases.
- Support regulatory tracking activities, including monitoring product compliance status, supplier documentation completeness, reporting obligations, and regulatory changes.
- Prepare compliance reports, dashboards, summaries, and data analyses for internal stakeholders and management.
Cross-Functional Compliance Support and Operational Execution
- Collaborate with Product Development, Packaging, Sustainability, Sourcing, Quality, Legal, and Supply Chain teams to support compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide operational support for compliance projects, audits, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing and improving compliance workflows, documentation processes, and regulatory operational procedures.
Continuous Improvement, AI Enablement, and Compliance Readiness
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of regulatory compliance operations, reporting processes, and documentation management.
- Assist in developing and improving compliance workflows, trackers, and operational processes using AI-enabled tools and automation opportunities while aligning with company data governance and compliance requirements.
- Support organizational readiness for regulatory audits, internal reviews, customer requests, and evolving global regulatory requirements through process documentation, knowledge sharing, and operational standardization.
GE Patent Research Coordination
- Coordinate with GE Product Licensing Lead, external patent lawyers, and internal cross-functional stakeholders regarding patent research requests, status updates, documentation, and follow-up actions.
- Maintain organized patent research trackers, records, and supporting documentation to ensure visibility, timely completion of deliverables, and alignment with compliance requirements.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Electronics or Industrial Engineering is required.
- At least six (6) years of hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, product compliance, environmental compliance, or a closely related compliance function, preferably in a product, manufacturing, consumer goods, testing, certification, or supplier compliance environment.
- U.S. and European Product Compliance, Battery and Packaging Regulations (ROHS, REACH, Extended Producer Responsibility (e.g. WEEE, US EPR, EU Packaging EPR), CA Prop 65, TSCA, PFAS, EU DPP, Battery Directive, Energy Efficiency Regulations, Greenhouse Gas, Conflict Minerals, Anti-Human Slavery laws, etc.)
- Vendor management and communication through email
- Product Lifecycle Management software (Siemens TCEC, Enovia, Oracle Agile PLM, PTC Windchill, etc.)
- EPR Reporting
- Management of FMD in IPC and Excel format
- Interpreting UL and NRTL (SGS, Intertek, BV) laboratory reports
- BOM Analysis
- FMD Assessment and Validation
- Regulatory tracking
- Ability and strong interest in developing, improving, and optimizing regulatory compliance processes, workflows, and operational efficiencies through the use of AI-enabled tools, automation solutions, and other technology-driven process improvements.
- Knowledge in Sustainability (GHG Inventory, LCA, Carbon Footprint Calculation) is a plus.
Location: The Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist position is a remote working position for Balsam International Unlimited Philippine ROHQ in Manila. Team members in the Philippines are located within Metro Manila, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, and Tarlac areas only.

- Must attend occasional in-person meetings.
- Must have a fast, reliable DSL, Fiber, or Broadband connection (not mobile or broadband stick) as the primary internet connection with a minimum actual speed of 50MBPS.
