Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check.

Essential Job Duties

BambooHR is looking for a Technical Program Manager - Security & Responsible AI, to drive the execution of critical security programs while also leading cross-functional Responsible AI initiatives across the company. Program Managers at BambooHR play a central role in planning, coordinating, and delivering complex technical programs, and this role specifically operates at the intersection of information security, AI-enabled product development, and governance.
This role is a security-focused technical program manager, responsible for delivering security outcomes across cloud, product, and corporate environments. In parallel, the role partners across Security, AI/ML, Privacy, IT, Legal, Data Analytics, Engineering, and Product to ensure Responsible AI principles are embedded into how BambooHR designs, deploys, and operates AI-enabled systems.

You will:

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of core information security programs, including cloud security initiatives, security tooling implementations, risk reduction efforts, and compliance-readiness activities.
  • Drive Responsible AI programs that operationalize security, privacy, governance, and risk management controls for AI-enabled systems across the company.
  • Partner closely with Security Engineering, AppSec, SecOps, and GRC to translate security strategy and risk into executable program plans with clear milestones and ownership.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML, Privacy, IT, Legal, Data Analytics, Engineering, and Product teams to define scope, goals, and success metrics for Responsible AI initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed program plans covering timelines, dependencies, resourcing, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies for both Security and Responsible AI workstreams.
  • Coordinate technical execution across multiple teams to ensure Security and Responsible AI requirements are clearly defined, tracked, and delivered.
  • Identify and manage cross-functional dependencies, critical paths, and delivery risks; proactively surface issues and drive resolution.
  • Proactively manage risks related to security posture, AI misuse, data protection, regulatory expectations, and third-party dependencies.
  • Track and report on program health, risks, and outcomes using meaningful metrics and KPIs; provide clear, concise updates to security leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Apply an AI-forward mindset by using AI tools to improve program tracking, documentation, analysis, and execution efficiency, and by sharing practical examples of AI-enabled program management.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, Engineering, or a related technical field OR equivalent applicable experience managing technical or security-focused programs.Experience managing security-focused technical programs in cloud, SaaS, or enterprise environments.
  • Working knowledge of Responsible AI concepts, including AI security risks, data protection, model governance, transparency, and accountability.
  • Strong understanding of information security domains such as cloud security, application security, identity and access management, incident response, and governance/risk/compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate security and Responsible AI risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs clearly to technical teams and leadership.
  • Proven ability to drive execution across multiple teams without direct authority, balancing security rigor with delivery velocity.
  • Deep curiosity and hands-on experience using AI tools to improve productivity and workflow efficiency, with the ability to discuss real-world examples of applying AI in program execution.
  • Proficiency in program and project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with comfort operating in ambiguity.
  • 4-5 years of experience in technical program management, with demonstrated delivery of complex, cross-functional security initiatives.
