We have distribution reaching 200M+ Americans through an existing institutional channel. The underlying AI platform already serves millions of user interactions in production. The hard part isn't finding users — it's building the systems that can handle the weight of their entire financial lives.

That's where you come in. Multi-model AI orchestration. Financial data aggregation across dozens of core banking systems. Computer use agents navigating legacy UIs. An agent platform runtime for third-party financial products. These are the systems that need owners — engineers who set technical direction, make tradeoff decisions, and ship production code every day. We're scaling fast. The scope is real.

Why This Role Is Unique

As a Senior Software Engineer at BankGPT, you sit at a rare intersection: working directly with OpenAI's research team on frontier model capabilities while shipping those breakthroughs into a consumer product that touches millions of people's financial lives. Most engineers get one or the other. Here you get both.

What You'll Do

• Own a core system end-to-end: multi-model AI orchestration, financial data aggregation, Computer Use engine, agent platform runtime, or consumer app architecture.
• Set technical direction. Make decisions that shape how the product scales to millions of users.
• Mentor and unblock mid-level engineers. Raise the team's bar by example.
• Work directly with Bruce (CTO) on architecture. Ship production code daily.

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years production engineering, 2+ years senior-level ownership at a consumer-scale product.
• Deep chops in one or more: distributed systems, AI/LLM at scale, mobile app architecture, real-time data systems, browser automation / agent runtimes.
• Shipped a product that 1M+ people use.
• Extreme AI fluency. Rebuilt their engineering workflow around AI to move 3x faster.
• Hunger over credentials. Fast-shipping startup generalist over brand-name coaster.
• Preferred: Top 20 CS degree + 2+ startups. Exception: exceptional startup shipping record with deep system ownership.
