The Role

We are hiring a Vice President of Engineering to lead engineering, QA, and infrastructure. This is an executive role for a strong technology leader who enjoys building teams, collaborating closely with peers, and delivering high-quality software with speed and discipline. The right candidate brings enterprise software judgment, hands-on startup mentality, and a practical view of how AI can improve both engineering productivity and product capability.

What You Will Do

• Lead engineering across application development, QA, and infrastructure engineering.
• Build and coach a high-performing team culture centered on ownership, quality, reliability, and pace.
• Partner with Product, Customer Success, and leadership peers to translate company priorities into clear engineering plans and predictable execution.
• Improve planning, SDLC, architecture, release management, observability, incident response, and overall delivery discipline.
• Guide technical decisions across Banyan’s Java and Vue.js stack, with Python capability where needed for services, automation, and AI-oriented workflows.
• Advance enterprise readiness across security, auditability, resiliency, deployment practices, and operational rigor.
• Drive practical use of AI to improve engineering productivity and support customer-facing AI capabilities where they create real value.
• Help recruit, develop, and retain strong engineers while raising the bar for technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

What We Are Looking For

• Senior engineering leadership experience at the Director, VP, or equivalent level.
• Strong B2B SaaS background, including experience serving enterprise customers.
• Experience operating in regulated or control-oriented environments where security, reliability, and process discipline matter.
• Hands-on technical judgment across modern web applications, cloud systems, and software delivery practices.
• Working knowledge of Java, Vue.js, and Python.
• Experience with applied AI solutions such as RAG, LLM workflows, ReAct patterns, or agentic frameworks.
• A startup mindset: pragmatic, collaborative, resourceful, and comfortable moving between strategy and execution.
• FinTech experience is a plus, but not required.

In this role, success means building a stronger engineering organization, increasing confidence in roadmap delivery, improving product quality and platform stability, and helping Banyan scale its technology foundation for enterprise customers. This leader should be equally comfortable setting direction, making decisions, and stepping in to unblock the team when needed.

Compensation

Base salary $200,000–$230,000, commensurate with experience, plus meaningful equity.
