- Part Time Role - 3 days a week

BROAD PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Human Resource Advisor collaborates with all departments to develop and implement policies, procedures and positive, culture-based initiatives aligning to business goals, values and behaviours. The HR Advisor is responsible for leading recruitment activities, training and development, performance management and safe systems of work.
SCOPE
The HR Advisor will provide advice and feedback to upper management which can be considered in developing and adjusting business strategies. The HR Advisor will disseminate information to all business levels as directed and coordinate supporting activities.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the WSR General Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Provide human resource management advice and services, including (but not limited to):
- Recruitment and selection of staff; post job ads, coordinate a timely and professional process for selection and appointment including comprehensive reference checks
- Investigate options for alternative recruitment strategies or consultants as directed
- Update and maintain job descriptions which are aligned to our TM, values and behaviours
- Provide staff inductions within local office and provide training on induction process to state BDMs to achieve successful integration into the business and team
- Identify training and development opportunities
- Design and implement training and development programs that enhance employees’ skills, knowledge and overall growth, engaging support of SME if required
- Enhance and support performance review process, providing coaching on performance improvement, feedback delivery and goal setting.
- Advise on Industrial Relations legislation including awards, acts and general practices, EEO and discrimination
- Mediate to resolve conflict, with support of Group HR and only to the extent that it is reasonable
- Provide advice in relation to disciplinary process, up to and including, termination of employment
- Mitigate risk of exposure to industrial / legal liability such as unfair dismissal / unlawful termination claims, discrimination / harassment claims, and underpayment of wages claims and act as a representative for the organisation in the event a claim is made against the organisation
- Issue exit interviews via relevant platform
- Contribute to the creation and enhancement of policies and procedures that comply with legal requirements and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Serve as primary point of contact for employees’ HR-related queries providing guidance on matters including, but not limited to, performance management, career development and conflict resolution
- Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to provide insights for management decision making.
Responsibility for Workplace Health & Safety and Return to Work claim management, including:
- Implementation of best practice Work Health Safety procedures
- Create a system to administer and monitor compliance requirements for national offices, such as test and tag services, asbestos registers, evacuation plans etc.
- Provide administrative tools and training for the team to conduct work in a safe manner; to conduct risk assessments, report hazards or incidents, identify risks and implement control measures.
- Liaising with the Managers and employees on return to work plans as required
- Liaising with the Claims Management Agent, and any rehabilitation consultants appointed for Return to Work Processes
- Promote workplace safety and supporting knowledge.
- Promote psychological safety in the workplace through engaging our EAP, handling sensitive issues appropriately and maintaining confidentiality where required.
All other reasonable duties as required.
