Position: Solution Engineer
In this role, the Solution Engineer is responsible for assisting customers in the preparation, planning, design, configuration, validation, and deployment of the Hancock Cloud energy efficiency retrofit software product suite. This position will have interaction with Technical Support, Product Management, Engineering, and the Executive team to coordinate resolution of customer deliverables. This is a hands on position requiring software configuration to meet customer business requirements. Existing knowledge of energy efficiency retrofits and utility efficiency programs is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as the primary implementation resource during the overall implementation/onboarding phase of the client lifecycle
- Clearly define, identify and document business and technical needs and objectives
- Create user documentation, instructions, and procedures
- Assist with training on the administration and use of the solution
- Participate in project calls with customers and act as a subject matter expert on Company solutions
- Coordinate and track tasks, assigned to both internal and external project team members
- Execute a variety of project tasks such as procedures scripting, data imports, configuration, testing, and knowledge transfer
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for report development or product enhancements
- Work across time zones with nationwide clients and with global team members across the U.S., India, and China
- Build strong relationships with customers to facilitate requirements gathering and validation
- Instrumental in the development of solution engineering guidelines, while offering ideas for process improvement
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Offered salary is for candidates meeting minimum qualifications. Salary is flexible and commensurate with experience.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver software implementation projects from presales to final delivery, preferably in this or related industry
- Ability to accurately track multiple detail-intensive, interdependent tasks with timely completion
- 2-5 years JavaScripting and web design experience including implementation experience working for a software company
- Most or all of the following skills: web developer, JavaScript, PascalScript, MS SQL Script, Azure designer, Postman, SMS, Embarcadero Rad Studio, Delphi, RESTful API development, basic SQL, debugging, and business intelligence
- General knowledge of database structure that allows for quick understanding of data migration tools and processes
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
- Commitment to work well with clients, build successful customer relationships and ensure satisfaction
- Experience working in the energy efficiency retrofit and/or construction industry, especially utility demand side management space is a plus
- Self-motivated and proven productive working with a virtual team
- Successful achievement of project success criteria and business outcomes
