Chief Executive Officer - Operating Company

The Position
Banyan Software, which provides the best permanent home for successful enterprise software companies, their employees, and customers, seeks a Chief Executive Officer for one of its well positioned and successful portfolio companies. The CEO is responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership for the operating company with a focus on revenue, Go-To-Market (GTM) execution, product and the customer experience. With the support of Banyan Software’s Operating Partner, the CEO will establish the strategies, plans and policies to meet the company’s revenue growth and profitability goals. Preference will be given to profiles with software businesses experience serving the fleet management industries, although this is not required. This person will have high levels of passion, intellect and drive and will be a customer-facing, self-confident, team-oriented individual who acts with unquestioned integrity. This team is located with an office in Virginia, but many team members work remotely. The candidate can work in the office or remotely with recurring office visits.
Specific Responsibilities
The priorities of the CEO are to:
- Define and communicate a compelling vision and growth strategy for the business and lead overall execution
- Maintain healthy and predictable growth by establishing and consistently meeting the execution milestones of the company’s financial and operating plans
- Develop and refine a GTM strategy and team to drive new growth and maintain high levels of client retention
- Rapidly master and understand the differentiating product capabilities and engage with current and prospective customers
- Keep a pulse on the market and ensure the company’s product roadmap is moving in the right direction to maintain modern solutions that meet customer’s evolving needs
- Establish and further enhance relationships within the existing client base with a focus on retention, client satisfaction, and incremental value creation
- Directly engage prospective customers and partners; this is a “lead from the front” leadership profile
- Develop and execute operational initiatives to continually improve profitability
- Ensure functional teams—principally engineering, sales & marketing, and customer success—are productively working towards company priorities and operating with a customer-first mindset
- Be a visible presence in the market and generate positive exposure for the business as a thought leader in the industry among customers, partners, influencers, and stakeholders
- Bring outstanding leadership to the organization. Build, retain, and mentor a world-class team consisting of diverse and complementary skill sets and experience.
- Extend a winning culture at the Company where the team is engaged, challenged to succeed, and rewarded appropriately
Qualifications & Experience
- Past senior leadership experience in a successful B2B software business
- Verifiable track record of value creation
- P&L experience, with strong financial literacy and business acumen
- Demonstrated effectiveness in Sales & Marketing, including GTM planning and execution
- Familiarity with software product management
- Passion for delighting customers and engaging teams
- Experience with operationally evaluating and integrating acquisitions
- Experience in Fleet Management software/industry is helpful, but not required

Education
- An undergraduate degree from a well-regarded university is required
