The Opportunity

This opportunity is with our Operating Company Harrier who provides the Ignition platform a leading customer retention and engagement product for the automotive industry. The platform helps dealerships automate workflows, strengthen customer relationships, and improve their marketing and service retention programs across Australia and New Zealand, working with major dealership groups and OEMs.

We're looking for a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engineer to take ownership of how Harrier communicates with customers across every channel email, SMS, letters, and beyond.

You'll be based in Sydney in a hybrid setup, reporting to the Chief Information Officer and working closely with our Engineering, Architecture, Customer Success, and Product teams. This is a hands-on role where you'll be the go-to person for everything Marketing Cloud from keeping day-to-day journeys running smoothly to building out exciting new capabilities.

Harrier's Marketing Cloud platform is going through a real period of growth and improvement right now. We're looking for someone who can help simplify what's already there, while also building new things like social media marketing automation, digital referral programs, and smarter, more personalised customer communications. There's plenty of interesting work ahead, and you'll have the space to make a genuine impact.

What You'll Do

  • Own the journey automations – Look after Harrier's end-to-end Marketing Cloud journeys across all notification types, building new ones, improving existing ones, and cutting out anything that's adding unnecessary complexity.
  • Keep the data in good shape – Manage the data extensions and contact records that sit behind our communications, making sure everything stays clean, accurate, and properly synced with Salesforce CRM.
  • Run multi-channel communications – Keep email, SMS, and letter communications running reliably, and help us build out new capabilities like two-way SMS as we expand what's possible.
  • Build new marketing capabilities – Design and build the Marketing Cloud setup needed to support social media marketing and digital referral programs for non-contract customers.
  • Make sure we stay compliant – Ensure our marketing operations meet Australian Privacy Act requirements and that our opt-in/opt-out processes are watertight.

What You'll Bring

  • Recent Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience across Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Mobile Studio, Contact Builder, and Content Builder.
  • Strong skills in AMPscript, SSJS, and SQL for dynamic content and data extension queries.
  • Solid experience integrating Marketing Cloud with Salesforce CRM using MC Connect, including synced data extensions and triggered sends.
  • A track record of managing multi-channel marketing automation email, SMS, and more at scale in a B2B or B2B2C environment.
  • Experience managing contact hygiene, subscriber lifecycles, and opt-in/opt-out compliance.
  • A solid understanding of email deliverability best practices and how to protect sender reputation.

Bonus Points

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications such as Email Specialist, Marketing Cloud Administrator, Developer, or Consultant.
  • Experience with SMS tools like SMS Magic or Twilio integrated with Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Flows, Apex, or the broader Salesforce data model.
  • Experience with AI-driven personalisation or Einstein Engagement features within Marketing Cloud.
  • Knowledge of data privacy compliance frameworks, particularly the Australian Privacy Act.
