This is an opportunity to join one of our growing Operating Companies Gap Solutions based in Adelaide South Australia. 

We’re looking for a Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) to lead GaP Solutions into its next chapter of growth, innovation, and platform evolution.

Reporting directly to the CEO this is a pivotal executive role that blends strategic vision with hands-on leadership. You will help define the direction for GaP’s end-to-end product and technology offering spanning cloud-based POS software, hardware, payments infrastructure, and a growing suite of analytics and AI capabilities while building the teams and culture to bring that vision to life.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a market-leading product at the intersection of retail technology and payments, driving real outcomes for merchants and partners across the region.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the unified Product and Technology vision Define and execute a strategy that spans core POS software, payments, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms, aligned to GaP’s commercial growth objectives and Banyan’s long-term direction.
  • Lead the product roadmap — Translate customer needs, market opportunities, and business priorities into a clear, well-sequenced roadmap covering core POS, payments, inventory, integrations, and APIs.
  • Drive AI and data foundations — Establish GaP’s AI strategy across code development, data platforms, predictive analytics, and generative AI turning data into insights and competitive advantage.
  • Shape engineering excellence — Lead and scale the engineering team across cloud-native POS platforms, mobile and in-store applications, payment processing systems, and embedded hardware solutions. Embed Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices as the standard.
  • Elevate quality and reliability — Oversee comprehensive QA and testing frameworks (automated and manual) and ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, NMI, and data privacy regulations. 
  • Champion the customer experience — Lead Technical Support and Customer Operations, building self-service tools, AI-augmented helpdesk platforms, and diagnostic systems that set a new bar for merchant support.
  • Secure the platform — Own cloud infrastructure, platform security, PCI-DSS compliance, data protection, and business continuity. Ensure GaP’s systems are resilient, performant, and trusted.
  • Partner with the CEO and Head of Sales to define how GaP is positioned in the market, identify target customer segments, and ensure the product roadmap reflects competitive priorities.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive experience in senior product and technology leadership (CPTO, CTO, CPO, or equivalent), ideally within POS, fintech, payments, or SaaS environments.
  • Proven track record of scaling product organisations and engineering teams while maintaining quality and velocity.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud platforms, and payment ecosystems including PCI-DSS compliance.
  • Experience spanning the full product lifecycle from discovery and UX through to engineering, QA, and customer support.
  • A customer-centric mindset with demonstrated success building data-driven product cultures.
  • Demonstrated success delivering AI/ML and analytics-driven product innovation.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, you can influence at the executive level and inspire technical teams in equal measure.


Bonus Points

  • Experience in POS hardware-software ecosystems or retail technology environments.
  • Familiarity with payment processing infrastructure, contactless technologies, or next-generation payment rails.
  • Experience with generative AI, edge computing, or IoT applications in retail or hospitality.
  • Background in global compliance and regulatory environments spanning payments and data privacy.
  • Proven success identifying new product-led revenue opportunities or commercial models.
