Barbaricum is seeking a Senior Project/Program Manager to support the Department of Defense’s Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO) in accelerating the DoD’s adoption of data, analytics, and AI. The Search Portfolio serves the fundamental need to accelerate decision advantage through information accessibility, information retrieval and insight extraction. The Portfolio will sustain the GAMECHANGER, Contract Search, and JBook Search applications on the Advana platform as the platform upgrades and evolves. This role will be essential as it requires centers on managing, developing, and optimizing complex AI/ML and data-driven software solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) while supporting the organization’s critical goals of modernizing and advancing technical capabilities
Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, developing, testing, and documenting Search Portfolio products.
- Apply business process improvement practices, modernizing projects, acquisition process/planning, and reengineering old methodologies and principles.
- Support agency teams in development and management of milestones, goals, and deliverables for each of the Search Portfolio products.
- Coordinate and rationalize CDAO’s technical efforts to support AI/ML enabled indexing, search, and augmented retrieval of unstructured data sets.
- Stay informed on latest AI system and software architectures and trends from design patterns to DevSecOps and systems architecture patterns.
- Develop plans, road maps, software design strategies.
- Capture, develop, and report reference architectures and documenting compliance standards.
- Work with mission teams to engage with potential customers within the DOD and identifies and evaluates prospective projects.
Qualifications:
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance and must be able to achieve a TS/SCI clearance with scope.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of Project Management experience (or MS plus 5 years) managing complex projects in an IT engineering or big data environment.
- Minimum of 5years of experience managing projects utilizing non-traditional program management methodologies (e.g., Agile) in big data, AI/MLOps, and DevSecOps environments.
- 5 years of experience in a military or other Government environment performing in a related subject area (e.g., project management, engineering, or computer science).
- Ability to track and report aggregated personnel utilization and budget usage across the Search portfolio.
- Strong communications skills: Ability to proactively engage fellow CDAO members within and beyond the team as well as DoD cross-organizational communications.
- Possess an active certification in one of the following:
- Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional, PMI Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, or equivalent program or project management certification.
