About the Role
Join Baron’s dedicated team as an Investment Specialist in the Intermediary Sales Department. This role is an opportunity to drive sales and cultivate long-lasting relationships with both new and existing clients.
The ideal candidate possesses strong relationship-building skills, a deep understanding of product and capital markets, and a proven track record of sales success. As a valued team member, you'll collaborate with 1 to 2 Regional Director(s), focusing primarily on driving mutual fund sales and elevating relationship management within our Intermediary Sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales by developing, maintaining, and deepening relationships with new and existing Financial Advisors (FAs); influence FA choices using a consultative sale process.
- Partner with Regional Director(s) to develop a business plan, manage a territory, and drive regional and corporate goals and objectives.
- Initiate proactive telephone calls to an assigned territory for prospecting, scheduling, and relationship development purposes.
- Answer and convert inbound calls from the territory into additional opportunities to drive sales.
- Become a product specialist, by being knowledgeable in all Funds, and capable of clearly articulating Firm and product information within Firm guidelines, including investment philosophy, purchase/sales decisions, and holdings information.
- Demonstrate an understanding of all accounts/distributors, including specific rules of engagement for distributors and platforms.
- Use CRM system and other applications to research business, log activity, and run competitive analysis.
- Effectively prioritize and manage daily, weekly, and monthly workload.
- Work as part of a cohesive team to support all sales and client service activities and goals.
- Engage in limited travel within the territory and attend work conferences when applicable.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Must hold Series 7 and 63 and/or 66 certifications.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Exhibit a high level of professionalism.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships.
- Possess basic knowledge of the organization, products and/or services.
- Capable of multi-tasking and working efficiently under stress and high volume.
- Proficient in software applications (ex. Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce).
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to actively listen to clients.
- Capable of effectively operating in a team-oriented and highly collaborative environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and oral/written communication skills.
- Strong mentoring environment with seasoned professionals willing to share their experience.
The base salary range for this position is based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition, it is eligible for commissions and annual discretionary bonus. It also participates in the Firm's 401(k) and Profit-Sharing Plan.
