SUMMARY:

As a Senior Data Architect, you will play a critical role in developing and executing our  enterprise data strategy. Your focus will be on establishing  robust data governance practices, designing scalable data architectures, and delivering  efficient reporting solutions that drive data-informed decision-marking across the firm. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that optimize our data assets and support their objectives.

ESSENTIAL TASKS: 

  • Design and implement a forward-looking data strategy aligned with business objectives, incorporating industry best practices and emerging data technologies.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, compliance, and privacy.
  • Define and maintain a scalable, efficient, and flexible data architecture that accommodates diverse data sources and formats, while enabling seamless data integration and access.
  • Design and manage robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to efficiently move, cleanse, and transform data from various sources into a central data repository.
  • Implement and maintain master data management (MDM) solutions to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and reliability across the firm.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver actionable business intelligence using tools like SSRS, InDesign, and Power BI.
  • Establish data quality standards, conduct data profiling, and implement data quality improvement processes to maintain data integrity, with consideration for business-specific data quality requirements.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data assets, flows, and definitions, making it accessible to relevant business teams.
  • Continuously assess emerging data technologies and tools to keep the organization current and competitive
  • Design and optimize databases to reflect evolving business requirements.
  • Evaluate current data designs and databases to recommend  upgrades and improvements.
  • Integrate Snowflake with existing data sources and ETL processes.
  • Automate and maintain various internal and external reports using SSRS, InDesign and Power BI.

Partner with company stakeholders across departments to translate business needs into functionable, scalable data solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years full-stack development of enterprise applications and database solutions.
  • 5+ years working experience in IT at financial institutions.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SQL Server, Azure, SSRS, Power BI, SQL Replication.
  • Demonstrated experience in data architecture, data strategy, data governance, and reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of database management systems, data modeling, ETL processes, and reporting tools
  • Experience with modern Snowflake data warehouse implementation and management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and data management trends

Knowledge / Skills /Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business domain is recommended.
  • Proficiency in Azure data services and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data governance principles.
  • Expertise in ETL processes and tools, particularly within the Azure ecosystem.
  • Experience with master data management (MDM) and data quality management.
  • Expertise in data reporting and analytics tools, especially those integrated with Azure.
  • Ability to lead data centralization efforts and optimize data storage.
  • In-depth knowledge of data security and compliance, including Azure security practices.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Expertise in T-SQL and SQL Server Data Management Services (SSMS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)Solid knowledge of T-SQL (SQL Server) which includes stored procedures, UDF’s, query optimization and system views.
  • Solid knowledge of ETL, SSRS and Power BI.
  • Good understanding of Azure environment and DevOps.
  • Following experience, a plus: InDesign, Power Apps, Power Automate, Active Batch, Azure Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in Snowflake data warehouse, including data loading, transformation, and querying.

The base salary range for this position is based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. It is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. It also participates in the Firm's 401(k) and Profit-Sharing Plan. The Firm's comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage, along with short and long-term disability insurance coverage.
