
Hardware Engineering Intern
Our mission at Base is to fix the power grid and enable affordable and reliable electricity for all. Base is deploying and designing a unique residential battery, power inverter, and interconnection strategy to bring affordable and reliable power to regular people who rely on an aging and increasingly overloaded electrical grid. Our low-cost battery is enabled by our unique business model, which enables people to get larger and much more powerful batteries than commercially available alternatives which cost 5 - 10x more. Come solve interesting problems like battery and inverter mechanical and electrical design, microgrid interconnection device mechanical and electrical design. We build, test, and deploy hardware in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a full time experienced engineer to design. simulate, test, diagnose, and build mechanical and electrical aspects of batteries and inverters in various stages of development, from early prototype to sustaining in production at very high volume.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Junior or Senior in undergraduate program or graduate program in Engineering, Math, Physics, or similar.
- Strong electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals
- CAD Design a plus for mechanical engineers
- Schematic and PCBA layout a design for electrical engineers
