Want to join our team as a Production Lead?
Under general direction of the Production Supervisor and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, the Production Lead will work with the Production Supervisor to coordinate workload and move associates to designated workstations as needed, and able to resolve bottlenecks on the helmet production line, to continue production flow within the facility.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Cooperates with the Production Supervisor to provide oversight of the day-to-day activities and personnel engaged in manufacturing of products within their assigned department to ensure efficient, effective, and successful operations.
- Monitors progress towards daily production goals and communicates status to Production Supervisor.
- Proactively looks for and identifies bottlenecks, delays, or other issues that disrupt normal production and resolves issues and/or brings them to the attention of the Production Supervisor.
- Follows daily plan for assigning appropriate equipment and resources to jobs to maintain efficiency and safety.
- Works on the production lines and is able to support in shipping and receiving (for example picking, loading, and unloading) or other factory jobs, as needed, when needed, to cover absences, in support of continuous improvement initiatives and to ensure our customers’ product orders are complete, of high quality and shipped on time.
- Assists with training and supervision of Production Associates, Seasonal Production Associates and Temporary Production Associates.
- Regularly monitors employees’ performance and updates the Production Supervisor regarding pace, quality, and safety.
- Assists with continuous improvement initiatives and activities such as safety, job training, quality, and waste reduction.
- Leads by example and creates atmosphere of accountability in the workplace.
- Performs data entry responsibilities, as required.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
Qualifications:
- At least one (2) year in manufacturing or similar experience.
- Ability to quickly learn, retain, and maintain technical knowledge of parts and product assemblies.
- Strong verbal communication skills to instruct, train, and give feedback.
- Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and effectively prioritize daily workload.
- Maintains professional and harmonious departmental relationships.
- Familiarity with obligations under the OSHA Act.
- Associates degree preferred.
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Previous experience with lean manufacturing practices preferred.
- MS Office experience preferred.
