Want to join our team as a Product Development Engineer?
The Product Development Engineer is an integral member of the R&D team by participating in all phases of product development and production processes; responsible for developing new technology and evolving our product lineup for Cascade and Maverik Lacrosse brands. This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Product Development – Lacrosse.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Supports the lacrosse R&D team in development of advanced technologies and new materials.
- Defines lacrosse product engineering requirements and ensures the end product meets these specifications.
- Ensures that technical drawings and CAD files meet the necessary specifications for manufacturing.
- Works with the Bauer Hockey R&D team to test materials and products.
- Completes testing and validation of finished product, components, materials and sub-assemblies to support the development process. Develops new testing protocols as required.
- Participates in the design, fabrication and modification of equipment and tooling to perform tests and trials.
- Performs project management for specific technical research projects when applicable.
- Communicates with GQA department in creation of QC guidelines.
- Required to travel 10% of the time to domestic facilities in New Hampshire and Quebec.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field- or equivalent years of relevant and related experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in engineering, product development, manufacturing or a related field.
- Experience GD&T and 3D CAD software. SolidWorks experience is a plus.
- Understanding of structural mechanics and materials. FEA knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes, such as additive manufacturing, is a plus.
- Understanding of biomechanics and test procedures for the game of hockey and lacrosse is a plus.
- Lab testing, Quality and Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Excellent time/project management skills, with ability to meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work multiple projects, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience and interest in the game of lacrosse is a plus.
