About the team

Post acquisition, the BBPOS team is now an extension of the Stripe Terminal team.  Stripe Terminal helps Stripe users extend their online presence into the physical world. The Terminal team’s mission is to make it as easy for businesses to accept in-person payments as the Stripe API has done for online payments. With Terminal, businesses can unlock in-person payments use cases that are right for their business model—whether it’s creating a flagship retail experience, extending their website to a pop-up store, or enabling a mobile point-of-sale at their next event.

Who you are

We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Test Engineer who has strong experience across the full spectrum of testing—from SMT PCBA to final assembly. You design efficient test flows, develop test software and hardware, and analyze build issues and production data to drive quality and yield improvements. With proven on-site experience at contract manufacturers, you excel at turning engineering requirements into scalable, factory-ready solutions.

What you’ll do:

• Design and implement test flows for SMT PCBA and final assembly stages to ensure efficient and scalable manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain test software using C#, Python, or Java, integrating with factory systems and test equipment.
• Design, debug, and validate test fixture hardware, including control boards and interfaces for production testing.
• Analyze build issues and production test failures, driving root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Perform data analysis using tools like Minitab and JMP to monitor yield, identify trends, and optimize test coverage.
• Collaborate closely with contract manufacturers on-site to support test station bring-up, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Work cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams to align test strategies with product requirements.
• Ensure test systems are robust, maintainable, and compliant with manufacturing and quality standards.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in hardware manufacturing test engineering, preferably in high-volume consumer electronics.
• Hands-on experience with Android-based hardware products such as POS systems, smartphones, or equivalent embedded devices.
• Strong background in SMT PCBA and final assembly test development, including test flow design and implementation.
• Proficient in C#, Python, or Java for test software development and automation.
• Experienced in test fixture hardware design, including control board development and debugging.
• Familiarity with factory integration, including MES systems, test station bring-up, and equipment interfacing.
• Skilled in data analysis using Minitab or JMP to drive yield improvement and root cause analysis.
• Proven track record of working on-site with contract manufacturers, supporting production ramp and sustaining activities.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in global teams.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments and adapt to evolving production needs.
