Account Manager - Gaming & Entertainment Collectibles

The ideal candidate will be located in or near one of the following locations: Seattle, WA, Indianapolis, IN, Dallas, TX, Atlanta, GA , Troy, MI, Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, Bentonville, AR. Hybrid work schedule for those living near a BDA office, remote if not near a BDA office.

 

As an Account Manager-Collectibles at BDA, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts as we seek to provide fans and enthusiast with high-quality products and collectibles that celebrate their favorite franchises. Your primary focus will be on understanding the client’s needs and objectives, recommending suitable collectible and retail merchandise solutions and programs, and ensuring the successful execution and on-time delivery of projects and programs as we continue to expand our product line and market presence. You will coordinate presentations and development of new product launches.  Successful project and program execution will require excellent communication skills and collaboration with various internal teams, retail accounts, licensing partners and other agencies/suppliers to meet customer expectations and contribute to the overall growth and success of BDA.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with existing accounts while growing new relationships
  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships with constituents in video gaming and entertainment
  • Assist in negotiating contracts, licensing agreements, and terms of partnership to maximize profitability and brand exposure
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the distribution of our collectibles through various channels including retail, e-commerce and direct to consumer.
  • Act as main point of contact for select accounts, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
  • Understand clients’ promotional objectives, target audience, budget and deadline constraints to offer tailored collectible merchandise solutions and retail programs
  • Work closely with product development team to identify new collectibles opportunities and guide the creation of innovative products.
  • Monitor product performance and adjust strategies based on sales and customer feedback
  • Stay updated on industry trends, product knowledge, and best practices to provide informed recommendations, enhance our offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Understand BDA business units and services to evaluate and Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional products, programs or services to existing clients
  • Create compelling proposals & presentations that showcase the value of our products and services
  • Develop proactive strategy, presentation and pitches for client opportunities
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotes for clients based on their requirements
  • Facilitate the order process from ideation through delivery, ensuring all details are accurately recorded and communicated to internal teams.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and address any issues to ensure a high level of customer retention
  • Engage in ongoing forecasting and database management activities
  • Exude high levels of professionalism when interacting with clients, internal partners and external vendors and agencies

Job Skills and Traits

  • Understanding of retail landscape through experience with either manufacturing or distribution
  • Creativity and experience in merchandise. Ability to come up with out of the box, fresh new ideas
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple clients and orders simultaneously

  • Possess strong financial acumen with an understanding of calculating financial data such as margins & discounts to ensure profitable sales results
  • Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to travel as required

Qualifications

  • 3+ years proven experience in sales, account management, and business development
  • Proven track record of increasing sales and business opportunities through client development
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other relevant tools for sales and order management. (Salesforce preferred)
  • Promotional products, collectibles, or toy industry experience required
  • Knowledge/experience within the video game or entertainment licensing industry preferred
  • Experience with video game or media launches a plus

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000. If you are hired at BDA, your compensation will be determined based on factors that may include geographic location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any offer. In the spirit of pay transparency, the range listed is the full base salary range for the role and hiring at the top of the range would not be typical, in order to allow for future salary growth. The range listed is just one component of BDA’s total compensation and rewards programs, which includes: robust PTO; vacation, a paid volunteer day, holidays and summer Fridays, Benefits; medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, 401k; tuition reimbursement, mental health and financial wellness programs and professional development opportunities including tuition reimbursement. Certain revenue-generating positions may be eligible for incentive compensation.
