Strategic Proposal Manager – New Business Development
Location: Hybrid in Woodinville, WA office
About the Role
BDA’s New Business Development team is at the heart of our company’s growth. We respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), secure client renewals, and craft compelling presentations that showcase our expertise. In short, we bring in new business and help retain existing accounts—all while being the coolest team at BDA (if we do say so ourselves).
We’re looking for a Senior RFP & Research Writer who thrives in long-form, strategic writing and has a proven ability to craft persuasive, 20+ page business proposals. This role is perfect for someone who understands how to translate complex information into compelling narratives that align with both customer needs and our company’s voice, driving success in highly competitive enterprise sales environments.
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end proposal writing process, ensuring compliance with RFP instructions and requirements.
- Draft, edit, and refine persuasive business proposals that clearly articulate BDA’s value proposition.
- Collaborate with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather and integrate key information.
- Manage deadlines and project workflows using online proposal management systems (Ariba, SAP, Workday, etc.).
- Maintain project tracking tools to ensure all deliverables are completed on time.
- Assist with creative ideation and brainstorming for presentation themes, messaging, and client engagement strategies.
- Prepare additional supporting materials such as PowerPoint presentations, implementation schedules, and agendas.
- Conduct competitive research and analysis to strengthen proposal strategies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our proposal process, refining templates, messaging, and content organization.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while working closely with executive leadership and sales teams.
What you Bring
- Extensive experience writing long-form RFPs (ideally 20+ pages) that effectively blend customer-focused insights with BDA’s brand voice.
- Strong research and analysis skills to develop compelling narratives that differentiate BDA from competitors.
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities, with a track record of successfully managing multiple proposals under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) and experience using online proposal management tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments, gather insights, and ensure alignment on proposal strategy.
- A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment, actively contributing to group discussions, brainstorming, and strategy while also excelling in independent research and writing.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to craft persuasive, customized responses tailored to each opportunity.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently while staying proactive and communicative with the team.
- An ability to think creatively and contribute fresh ideas to enhance proposals and presentations.
Bonus Skills & Experience

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. If you are hired at BDA, your compensation will be determined based on factors that may include geographic location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any offer. In the spirit of pay transparency, the range listed is the full base salary range for the role and hiring at the top of the range would not be typical, in order to allow for future salary growth. The range listed is just one component of BDA’s total compensation and rewards programs, which includes: robust PTO; vacation, a paid volunteer day, holidays and summer Fridays, Benefits; medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, 401k; tuition reimbursement, mental health and financial wellness programs and professional development opportunities including tuition reimbursement. Certain revenue-generating positions may be eligible for incentive compensation.
