What you will be doing:

Our Diagnostics business is building the most comprehensive at-home platform for precision diagnostics, combining EEG and cardiopulmonary signals to deliver reimbursable assessments for sleep and central nervous system disorders. Together, we're changing the way patients are diagnosed and treated for any disorder that affects brain physiology. 

We are seeking experienced sleep technologists for PRN Scoring positions. Qualified candidates must hold an active RPSGT credential along with a current license in the District of Columbia, Louisiana or Delaware. Candidates must also maintain current BLS/CPR certification and remain fully compliant with AASM continuing education requirements. The RPSGT PRN Scorer will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Clinical Relations, who operates under the guidance of the Medical Director

 
What success looks like:

Clinical Scoring and Analysis 

  • Analyze physiological data from HST monitoring devices, including EEG, respiratory signals, and oximetry, to identify sleep stages and respiratory events
  • Interpret sleep architecture and patterns, arousal frequency, sleep efficiency and REM latency to support the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders
  • Accurately read, compute and evaluate statistical metrics from a sleep interpretation report
  • Identify and report pertinent clinical observations from raw data for clinical correlation by the interpreting sleep physician
  • Accurately score assigned Home Sleep Test (HST) studies within two business days of receipt of uploaded study, barring technical issues.  Monitor scoring queue daily 

AASM Standards of Practice 

  • Score all HST studies in accordance with the most current version of the AASM Scoring Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events: Rules, Terminology and Technical Specifications, applying the HST Recommended rules for sleep staging and respiratory events 
  • Review and edit all computer-assisted scoring on an epoch-by-epoch basis in compliance with the current AASM Scoring Manual 
  • Maintain scoring proficiency through ongoing participation in the AASM Inter-Scorer Reliability (ISR) program 

Quality, Compliance, and Communication 

  • Uphold HIPAA and privacy requirements and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards and quality assurance protocols related to HST testing and scoring
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with sleep monitoring equipment and software, escalating to the Director of Clinical Relations or technical support as needed
  • Communicate effectively with team members through encrypted email and approved internal platforms 

Credential and License Maintenance 

  • Maintain an active RPSGT credential and all required state licenses without lapse, including submitting renewal documentation and fees to the appropriate state agency in a timely manner, and notify Beacon immediately of any lapse in licensure for the state(s) in which you were hired
  • Obtain and manage continuing education credits in accordance with BRPT standards, and forward all CEU certificates to the Director of Clinical Relations
 
What you will bring:

Experience 

  • Minimum of five years of experience as an RPSGT performing in-lab polysomnography
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience analyzing and scoring Home Sleep Apnea Tests (HSAT/HST) 

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of college coursework preferred 

Credentials and Certifications 

  • Active Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential in good standing with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association or an equivalent provider
  • Current state license where required by the applicable state jurisdiction
  • Completion of 30 CEUs within a rolling 36-month period 

Knowledge 

  • Familiarity with, or ability to quickly learn, Beacon SV software and related policies and procedures for HST scoring
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with consistent follow-through
  • Sound critical thinking and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach and positive working relationships with colleagues
  • Maintain a secure, reliable, high-speed home internet connection and a dedicated, HIPAA-compliant workspace
